My godmother highly recommended Maxine Furs over their competitors 11 1/2 years ago. Since then 3 major purchases, all of my cleaning and storage for my mom and I are done with Maxine Furs. The personal attention with customers, the quality of service and merchandise is that of professionals. Last but not least their competitive prices. I guess nothing less should be expected from being in business for over 40 years. .

Dr. Pechi and his wife were absolutely professional and very helpful and honest. Their shop was beautiful. I had a coat that I had inherited and they were honest about it. I will highly recommend them to anyone looking for furs and meeting a Master Furrier.

I was referred to this place by a friend and I have been extremely satisfied. I don't! Although I must warn you John does not like furs hanging on wire hangers!! I made this mistake and was scolded for doing this to my furs. I am still seeking forgiveness. I recently purchased a beautiful sheared mink from Maxine’s . John and Sylvia provided their wisdom and knowledge in assisting me in choosing a coat for a special occasion. The experience was enjoyable and stress free. In the process of trying the coats on I realized how great the coats looked with formal, dressy or casual clothing. This was exciting since I typically associated a Fur with special occasions or formal events. They also provide cleaning, storage and alterations. I highly recommend checking here FIRST. My prior shopping experience at another fur shop H. in Hoover over charged me on another coat, was hard sell and had inflated prices. There is no comparison between the two. I strongly recommend Maxine Furs of Hoover! Mr. John Pechi is a Master Furrier and not only knows all about furs and repairs but also knows how to treat a customer. So impressed! After reading reviews of the other options in Birmingham I chose Maxine’s because of the positive reviews and was very glad I did. I took my wife’s coat in for a repair on Tuesday and explained that she was traveling to NYC on Thursday. Mr. Pechi said he would have it ready Thursday morning. This morning Wednesday he called and said it was already repaired and ready for pickup. Beautiful repair job and cleaning. I now plan on taking her fur wraps as well as her coat to Mr. John to be cleaned and stored when it warms up. Thank you Mr. John!

John and Sylvia are the best in the fur business. I highly recommend their services. John is extremely knowledgeable and I rate him as our number furrier in the State. The are professional and pleasant; and, your furs are stored right on the premise...which, in my world, is very important.

John is an expert in his field and very easy to work with. He conditioned and repaired a vintage fur that I had done for my grandmother. He guarantees his work. Additionally, he repaired the jacket for ONE 10th of the quote I got from his competitor in town. Highly recommend!
