McKay is awesome. He is friendly, efficient and detailed. It was stressful buying my first home, especially since I was out of state and in the process of moving. McKay worked around my schedule to ensure he could talk about exact processes and clarifications. His patience kept me from going crazy through this process. It is hard to find great people in the customer service industry and I was lucky to be able to work with McKay. I will 100% be using McKay for my next home purchase!

I cheerfully talk about McKay to anyone who talks about buying a home. I already knew him socially, and then he came highly recommended by good friends who worked with him for their new home. To be honest, I wasn't entirely organized and situated with my finances when I found the property I wanted, but I knew it was the perfect place for my daughter and me. It was pretty embarrassing to realize there were things I should've taken care of financially before I even started thinking about buying a place. I thought my chances to make this place my new home was about to slip away, but somehow McKay made it possible. McKay ever so gently and persistently nudged me in the right direction and with detailed instructions. Cosmic forces aligned for me when McKay was still able to bring me numbers I could work with and live with. He hustled and went the extra mile to help me apply for the Mortgage Credit Certificate and squeeze it in before an extremely tight deadline. Furthermore, at the time, I wanted to put more down and sacrifice a good portion of my extra savings to achieve a slightly lesser monthly payment, but McKay wisely suggested that I shouldn't do that in consideration of future expenditures. And it turns out, I absolutely needed that extra savings anyway. I'm so glad I listened to him! Throughout the entire process at the time, I acknowledge McKay for the following roles: my loan officer got the lowest rates possible!, my financial advisor I still have money in the bank!, my tax consultant I forgot to file a tax return! oops!, my mental therapist for all those panicked late night calls!, my cheerleader I almost had cold feet several times!, my priest absolutely no judgement whatsoever!, a true friend trusted homies are so hard to come by!, and finally, a genuinely warm-hearted, patient, and hardworking person who cares about the people he is providing services for elevated client service!. If you are considering McKay as your loan officer and you read this review, please know this comes from a sincerely grateful and thoroughly overjoyed single mother who didn't think she could ever own a home by herself here in Hawaii. My wife and I are Veteran first-time home buyers and we had a lot of questions about how to use our VA loan. We visited two different banks/lenders before talking to McKay but immediately knew that he was the correct choice. From the beginning, he was patient, well organized, and responsive. McKay educated us on our different options and allowed us to make the decisions so that we felt empowered throughout the process. He never pressured us and was honest and transparent about his fees so that we knew what we were paying for. McKay saved the day under complicated and difficult circumstances with finesse, and therefore, we are so confident in McKay’s abilities that we give him the highest recommendation possible! We started the loan process with another mortgage broker, which was a discouraging, beyond frustrating experience. We already had missed our closing date and were getting nowhere when we decided to give McKay a chance. He swiftly as possible saved the loan and helped us buy our family’s first house. A former underwriter, McKay was able to intelligently assess our situation and guide us with top-notch customer service. Time was of the essence, and McKay immediately and diligently started working on our loan, often working late. Unlike the other mortgage company, McKay had many more options for loans and he was able to rapidly work through the requirements of all the different lenders to find the ones that might fit our circumstances. In addition to having the knowledge, tools and resources, McKay had the professionalism and creativity to make it work. He listened and spoke carefully, considered our points of view, and was able to think outside the box to solve problems. His responsiveness was refreshing, always quick to respond to calls and emails from us, our agent, and the seller’s agent. It was an emotional process for all parties entering so late in the process and managing the expectations of everyone was a tremendous feat. McKay, however, was a true professional, expeditiously leading the way to closing steadily, calmly, and tactfully. We are grateful and fortunate to have worked with McKay – the best!

I dealt with a couple brokers and Quicken leading up to applying for a mortgage. We chose McKay Wilson due to his fast follow up, friendliness, attentiveness, and honesty. This continued throughout the application process and all the way through signing. And I still can ask a question and get a quick response whenever I need it even after closing.
