MDN Latin Dance Studio

I started as a beginner at MDN in July and it has been an amazing journey that I’m continuing in the next level. If you had told me that after 3 months I’d be able to do all the things I can now do, I wouldn’t have believed it. If you’ve ever wanted to learn salsa, this is the place to go. The instruction is detailed and taught in a way that everyone can understand. Marcus pushes you to be your best! Highly recommend!!

MDN Latin Dance Studio is not just an institution for learning how to dance salsa on 2; it's a lifestyle! Marcus Nieves is, hands down, the best instructor I have had the privilege of working with. The classes are large and versatile, which makes it wonderful from a partner-work and overall experience perspective. The students are all dedicated, come from all backgrounds, and love to have fun learning salsa together. The facility is beautiful and spacious. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the pricing is very reasonable. Parking is easy to find so you don't have to stress about being late. The cycles run from Beginner to Intermediate (not sure if there is an Advanced class) and it's recommended that you start at the beginning of the cycle in order to grasp all the concepts and build a solid foundation. However, if you have to join mid-cycle, they have you covered; there are smaller more intimate groups that will get you up-to-speed and out onto the big dance floor, with Marcus, in no time. While a 3-day/week commitment may seem like a lot, it's the best spent time and money you will grant yourself if you really want to learn how to dance salsa. You will learn about the music, the beats, timing, floor shines, turn patterns, and dancing on 2 and what that means. Every class builds to more complex moves and turn patterns that enable you to shine in and out of the classroom. Like anything else; patience, perseverance, and dedication is the name of the game. You will not only learn how to dance beautifully, you will increase your self-confidence and meet some really wonderful people along the way. I especially love the fact that MDN gives you opportunity to practice outside of the studio by holding recurring salsa socials where all levels interact and have fun learning together. A lot of the students also get together outside of class to practice at local dance spots on salsa nights. If you want to give yourself the gift of learning dancing skills that will supply years and years of fun and fitness then I cannot recommend MDN Latin Dance Studio enough. So bag up your dance shoes and come join the fun!

MDN is definitely the best studio in NJ! Once you begin dancing at MDN there is no turning back you will immediately fall in love with the studio and Marcus just as i did. I have been dancing at MDN since I was about 8 years old and it has become like a second home. Marcus really does lighten up the room and motivates you to do your very best which is something really great. I guarantee its a memorable fun experience !

I have gone to different salsa schools, but this is by far the best salsa school i have attended. It is like a salsa boot-camp which it builds on every class, it's challenging and awesome at the same time. Also, if by any chance you start late or miss classes, they have very good instructors that will help you catch up in a separate room. In my opinion, what i like the most is the detailed explanation of the steps, hand placement, timing. For example, when a turn must be done on what timing ..etc.
