Portion sizes have decreased dramatically over the years it used to be better ... Taste is very authentic and good, but this is a $17+ meal. One of the dessert balls is missing from the picture. Should be a $$$ rated restaurant for portion size in my humble opinion.
This is definitely a hidden gem. If you only look at the photos, you may not want to try it and that is mistake! I gave it a four star because there was basically no service in this place and the ambience wasn’t nice, but the food was fantastic. A few tips: Bring someone who can speak Punjabi with you, so they can communicate. The waiter/cook speaks broken English. Not everything on the menu is available, so ask them before you order. This is a CASH ONLY place! You don’t come here for the service. You may need to ask for a fork if you need. There are three must order dishes: mango lassi, keema naan, and shammi kebabs. I have tried so many Indian restaurants, and I can guarantee you this is the best mango lassi in Boston. You can feel that you are drinking real mango. But the mango lassi here is very thick and filling, so just keep that in mind. My husband is Indian and he was so addicted to it as well. We also ordered garlic naan, but my husband and our Punjabi friend said it was okay, no where compared to the keema naan. I don’t know how they can make the meat so fine and almost melted inside the naan. Genius!
This place is AMAZING. Just moved in a short walk away and I've eaten here three times in two weeks. Literally everything on the menu is good and just like your auntie, baa, and mother make. Everything is super fresh, surprisingly fast, and good portions. Paneer is great, samosas are crisp, tandoori is succulent, naans are freshly done. Gulab jamun stayed warm on the walk home through rain. WHEN you go, you must get the MANGO LASSI! You will thank me.
Use to be decent Pakistani food. We just ordered tonight and did not taste fresh. Spent $41 for something that tastes worse than a trader Joe's frozen dinner. It tastes like they just heated up precooked food in a microwave. We ended up not eating it. I called to let them know and the guy was as nice as possible offering me free food and trying to make it right. I told him I just want good food and no need for free food. He was extremely nice. But it's hard when the food is not something I would even eat if it's free.
Best I've ever had. I didn't have to deal with parking because I took an Uber. Non- stop drivers coming in for pick up. Uber eats and grub hub Place was clean and quiet and they had a cricket game on. 100%
Very good food, fresh and wholesome. Good menu. Nice service. Friendly atmosphere.
Wanted to like it since it’s the only Indian restaurant in Eastie. Like others have said the Chicken Tiki Masala was just tomato paste and very little chicken. I couldn’t even taste any spices. Also portion size was super small for an expensive price. Wish they would read these reviews and revamp their menu. Where’s Gordon Ramsey when you need him!
I Wish I could give a better rating. The service was terrible. We had a very difficult time ordering our food and communicating our dietary needs. Not sure if they did it right because I’m feeling sick the next day. They brought out an extra dish of food we didn’t order. All the food came to the table in takeout boxes. We had to ask for plates. We were never checked on. When we went to pay, the waiter insisted on a cash tip. Very rude. If you want takeout, it’s probably a good deal.
The place was smelly. It looked shady from the beginning. We wanted Indian food, so we stayed. We got lamb biriyani which was not fresh. There was only one person who acted both as our waiter and cook. You can literally see their dirty kitchen from the sitting arena. My highest frustration kicked in when he denied taking the payment by credit card and asked us to pay by cash. Then he also did not give us any receipt when we asked for it. Oh! We went there on tuesday and the place was closed. Google shows wrong hours. But alas! Our luck took us there pn wednesday to face the ultimate disappointment.
low key some of the best N Indian food around. yes, the naan, tikka massala and briyani are great but being adventurous on the menu is well rewarded: Aloo Baigun is a spicy eggplant and potato dish with a tomato sauce base and it was good enough that i could consider going vegetarian if i could eat like this. The owner is super friendly and the dining area is well kept back before it was take out only for covid.
