My brother-in-law and his soon to be bride hosted their rehearsal dinner at Mellow Mushroom. We were a loud and boisterous group but our server, the bartender and the hostess team were fantastic. I do not eat pork but they were happy to make the buffalo chicken pizza and put the bacon in a cup on the side for those that wanted the bacon. I tried the pineapple ale and then got another glass. We live in Washington, DC but we may have to make Mellow Mushroom a stop if we are ever in the Richmond area.

Love this place. Laid back vibe, very nice and helpful staff and an amazing beer selection! The bartender had some really good recommendations.

At the recommendation of friends who live in the area our family met theirs for lunch here this past Sunday. We found the staff very accommodating, the prices reasonable, and the food was very good. If a child has specific food allergies the cooks go out of their way to prepare and present it in such a way as to prevent cross contamination, as I noticed when our friends child, who suffers from several food allergies including gluten, received his order separate, in a box, so it would not come into contact with the other orders. My family ordered Chicken Cesar Salads, buffalo wings and a large pizza, half Hawaiian and half plain cheese. In most cases I like my pizza with a thin crust and the cheese floating on the sauce like NY/NJ style but this place served a thick layer of mozzarella on a thick, but not doughy, crust with generous portions of ham and pineapple which was delicious. As a testament to how good the food was none of us left a single crumb on the serving trays. I can't wait to try our local one in Rockville, MD.

Definitely up there with the best pizza I've ever had. Mellow Mushroom is an incredible place to eat, and if you've never been to one before you definitely should go out of your way to visit. Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is also really incredible. It's a place for people of all ages, and it's great for any amount of people, from dining alone to having a family get-together. I would give it a 6/5 if I could.

I’m sorry to say Carytown was a disappointment. My salad looked like it was made last week. The lettuce was brown and wilted. When I sent it back, I got a fresh salad. The pizza was over cooked. The crust was too dark and didn’t have good texture or taste. I’ve never had a bad pizza or salad at the Short Pump location.
