I honestly wish I could give 0 stars. I'm not sure if the people that work here are truly just incompetent or if they are looking to scam their customers or a combination of both. Please do not do business here. You would be better off going to the circus if you wanted this kind of treatment. Ordered a bedroom set in May, scheduled delivery for September, and then everything went downhill. First they scheduled the wrong delivery date. Then the wrong set was apparently delivered in the correct box to the warehouse. From there, the correct set apparently traveled all over the East coast and landed itself in PA - this bedroom was racking up those frequent flyer miles! It was on the trailer, off the trailer, in a warehouse, back on the road, maybe even on the moon? I don't know but I heard every story in the book. 5 stars for creativity I guess! They would be better suited in the entertainment industry in my opinion. Long story short, the bedroom never came. Each new delivery date came and went. I was asked "give me 3 more days" for 6 weeks straight. Absolutely absurd. Keep in mind they had my payment IN FULL this entire time. This store is completely untrustworthy and chaotic. Please take my advice and do your furniture shopping elsewhere.
The motor on my 3 year old couch burned out due to misuse. I called Melray and Bennie came the same day. Confirmed it was motor and ordered a new one. He came today and put the new one in and only charged me the freight charges. Can’t believe what great service. The motor burnout was our fault, not Melray’s. They could have charged for the néw motor, plus installation but they didn’t. I will certainly recommend them and will buy more furniture from them when I need.
This our 3rd time purchasing furniture from Melrays. Tim was a pressure free salesmen but was very knowledgeable and helpful. Furniture quality was great for the price. We had one issue with a cushion that Amy went above and beyond to get it corrected from the manufacturer. I recommend this company.
Stay Away. Ordered a couch and have been waiting 6 weeks. First they tell you it has shipped and give you an estimated delivery date to their warehouse. Exciting! Then the date arrives but the couch does not. Call after call and they don't know where your furniture is or when it may actually arrive. They have no useful information and can give you nothing but BS. We won't be making this mistake again, hopefully you don't even make it the first time. Terrible service. We had some previous furniture from Melrays, it lasted a long time and we were quite happy with it. When we needed some new pieces we went right over. Alas, something must have changed because things ain't what they used to be. Best shop with folks who know the importance of getting things where they need to be, when they are promised to be there.
Long story short, I wish I came here first! Alan the owner was so helpful, honest and knowledgeable. He helped measure and suggested a couch that would fit into my home. He didn’t waste time and didn’t let me leave without solving my problem. The quality of the service and furniture is amazing and I would highly recommend melrays to anyone looking for furniture for their home. Delivery was professional and on time. Thanks again for your help!
I'm giving you 1 star only because it's required I select a star in order to post. Otherwise, it would be ZERO! We've tried to support our local businesses which is why we've gone to your store for several years. Unfortunately, this past transaction was awful. It felt like as soon as we paid, you were done with us. We paid for a delivery fee when we live 2 blocks from the store. Took 2 weeks to get all of our furniture and only because we pushed for it. Upon delivery of the remaining piece, the delivery guy told our daughter that the receipt was marked COD when we paid for everything in full. Customer service was non-existent after you got our money. Never again will we be purchasing from you and we will never recommend your store again. Just terrible!!
Melray's has been in my hometown for decades but I never gave them a chance before. My mistake. The service from Tim and Amy was outstanding. I am a demanding customer, having been in customer service for 30 years, and the team here gives only customer satisfaction. You need a great sales professional like Tim to help you realize all they offer beyond what is in their showrooms. Tim guided me to make sure I bought real furniture well priced and smoothly steered me away from MDF and cheaply constructed pieces; most anything you want can be ordered. I went in to find a home office desk and left with 7 pieces and more to be ordered. I'm done wasting my time with high priced Restoration Hardware, Arhaus and Pottery Barn. Melray's offers better made goods. The owners cared so much about a great customer experience they were personally involved in delivering my furniture because of an exceptional situation and to ensure I had a sofa on move in day. That was the cherry on the Melray's sundae.
The quality of their products are really good, there’s no doubt about that. And the people who work there are really nice. But the waiting time for you to get the stuff you bought is way too long. I’m happy with my purchase because of the quality, but won’t be buying anything else from here unless they make their delivery times faster.
We had the best experience ever with Melrays. After ordering a new sofa from Macy’s and then cancelling it when they told me the next day it was take 3 months to come in, which left us with no sofa while I was 8 months pregnant. We walked into Melrays and Tim took care of us right Away, he was helpful, knowledgeable and sympathetic to our position. We ordered our sofa and again were told it would take about 2 months for all the prices to arrive, but they didn’t leave us hanging, the next day Tim sent us a “loaner sofa”! What big chain store would do that? It was an amazing and heartfelt touch! Thank you so much to the Melray’s family!
I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is 1 big scam. We bought a bed and after almost 70 days of waiting they finally called us to say the bed was in and it will be delivered the next day. The next day came and we get an email from Amy the "Manager" who is also the owner's daughter saying how they screwed up and they can't deliver the bed to us because it was discontinued. Wait WHAT? you sell us a bed, we pay 2 months of payments on it before we even get it and now you tell us that the bed is discontinued? This was back in June and guess what? we still haven't received the refund yet. How crazy is this? Then the "owner" calls me and says we can cut another bed to make it look like the size of the bed you need. I almost fell over when I heard that. I am paying almost $2500 for a bed and you think I would accept a bed that you cut? these people are actually insane.
