Hello everyone! Took me some time to finally post this review since I've been here, but finally here it is. First of all, I just have to speak on the genuine human connection and warm interaction made between myself and Memorial Towers staffing. Ms. Karina, Ms. Carrolyn, and their lovely companion, Ms. Yolanda provide and impress nothing but positive, attentive and honest feedback and professional support. My family and I have been induced with a sense of community since day 1 of our arrival. With our son on the way, tomorrow if not today, and and great new years just weeks away. I believe certainly if you are ready to explore ample economic and social opportunities, and looking for a great place to enjoy your family, to enjoy a home, and be surrounded by hard working and motivated people who lead respectable lives, than memorial towers is without a doubt where you should be going.
UPDATE- I've been a resident at Memorial Towers for 4 years and have watched deferred maintenance accumulate. We haven't had any amenities since October 2021, but the rent went up. There seems to be no urgency whatsoever to get the building up to speed. Management blames the city, but considering the time, Barvin is likely just taking the money to their own bottom line. The pool looks like a toilet. One star is too many.
Based off the reviews I should have kept it pushin but I thought let me give them the benefit of the doubt so I called to inquire about leasing here and the lady I believe named Simone was rude for no reason, its not even 9am in the morning and she’s already had a attitude just for asking simple questions about the unit, a few points of advice perfect your communication skills as you are in the line of work were sometimes its ok to listen to see what the person is asking before responding robotically bc you may hate your job, which bring me to my next point get a different job if you just started your shift and you already have attitude or take a self care day so you dont affect the businesses.
This place is a prison. I have had no AC since I moved here in May of 2021, going on 1 year. I have mold in my vents, as do other tenants. They spray paint over the mold. Don’t let them fool you into thinking they have a usable pool, rec room, gym, nothing. It’s all closed down due to city violations. The building is held up by shoring poles, as there is concrete spalling and fragments of the support beams falling on the ground, and water pouring through. The management doesn’t care and it’s upsetting how selfish they can be. Side note, there was a bat in our hallway, which management was notified of, and they went home. They still expect rent every month. Take a walk around the building. You will smell the mold growing in the walls. The management team here is all people who are of low iq, and stutter and fold under pressure. It’s sad. I wouldn’t recommend leasing here to my worst enemy.
I absolutely love living here and I’m pleased to say I just renewed my lease. This hotel California type retro feel makes me feel like I live in a vacation home. On top of that, the view of trees and the pool is a luxury that I’m grateful to have in the city of Houston. The cherry on top is Jerry and David who work at the front desk and are incredibly friendly and attentive to all the tenants needs. Anytime I have a maintenance request it is always taken care of that week. I am a full-time PhD student and I am able to get my studies done here in this quiet apartment complex filled with other professionals. Jerry and David are always welcoming when I come home from a long day at work. They truly take their job seriously and are focused on making this place a home for all the tenants! I have no complaints. <3
Hmmmm where to begin… no AC in the summer, no heat in the water, black mold covering the entire building, toilets randomly overflowing, no hot water in the winter & pool constantly under repair. Do not trap yourself in a lease with these idiots.
The community is great and being a mid rise you get some amazing views. Rice military is the place to be, you cannot beat the location you are literally close to everything. Good food, bars, pubs and all the nightlife is just around the corner. The folks in the office are always there to help. Karina, Destiny, and Josh have always been professional and helpful. Love that it's a very pet friendly community!
Memorial Towers is one of Houston's hidden gems! Great facility with great amenities with a stellar management and maintenance. I previously lived here before and moved back into the building a couple of years ago while they began renovation. With that being said the upgrades have made a huge difference the lobby area is very welcoming gives you a warm and inviting feeling. I do really love the location and views from my apartment and plus with my extended balcony it is a great place to sit out and enjoy a book while i sip on wine. I recommend this place very highly to anyone looking to move into this area it is very hard to describe this place fully as it has a unique character to it I give it a A++.
Living at Memorial Towers was an incredible experience. I had so many frustrating experiences elsewhere, but it was a completely different story at Memorial Towers. This is a honest review, by a tenant who had to move due to job relocation about two moths ago. To me, what’s most important is to count with an office staff that is always available, who are problem solvers, and who are genuinely concerned about your necessities. Destiny and David went beyond my expectations. They are professionals who represent their company and its tenants in the best possible way. Never to busy to answer my calls or to welcome me at their office. Truly amazing people! During my stay, the building was spotless, super clean and I felt very secure. The neighbors are friendly and very respectful. Most are young urban professionals. I was renting a two bedroom apartment and it was very spacious, my two medium-sized dogs, and I had enough room, very comfortable. I must say this place is a gem for the location, price and friendly office staff. You won’t find anything like this in this high-demand area. Ask for specials, Destiny and David are true problem solvers. I strongly recommend Memorial Towers. Looking forward to moving back in the future.
I’ve lived here almost 4 years and loved it until Barvin took over. AC was broken for 2 weeks, the hot water randomly stops working randomly so I have to take cold showers, the elevators are always breaking, they close the gym randomly, and Henry is rude. Notice most of the good reviews are from a year or more ago before Barvin. These people that just moved in have no idea. We were planning on living here until we were ready to buy a house but now are looking to move. We pay way too much to deal with not having AC and hot water. It’s the 21st century.
