A must try! Service was great and very accommodating as we had two children with us. Food was simply amazing! We had the gnocchi and octopus for starters. I’m not usually a gnocchi fan and I was amazed at how delicious it was. The octopus with the bean purée was so good my kid liked it. For mains we had the scallops and sea bass. Both great as well. I had the spicy apricot margarita and it was o great I had a second one. All in all an amazing f meal. Highly recommended! Kid-friendliness: Although not in menu they made a pasta and a grilled cheese for the kids. The kid’s pasta was super good!
Delicious food with an impressive curated menu. The service here was wonderful, we came for our anniversary and were treated so nicely. I highly recommend coming here for a nice dinner.Food: 5/5
Two stars because we only received half of what we ordered. We ordered appetizers and main courses. From what I experienced, if and when the food was served. It was a good and well-balanced dish. The main course!!! Never show up. They forgot. It seems there is no follow-up. I had to ask almost 30 minutes after they served the appetizers. Since it is an open kitchen, it's obvious to see from where we are situated. Nothing was in preparation. How did the place earn the recommendation?
Best meal in recent memory! Get their charcuterie board for a perfect marriage of flavors and an incredible made-from-scratch jam with ingredients like rosemary adding depth. Cocktails, including the NA ones are high quality and complex. Hospitable staff, unique historic setting. The one thing that I would like to see different is that they prefer you order everything upfront. We chose to order the next course while eating appetizers and the gap between finishing one course and receiving the next one was 30 minutes, which felt slightly too long. So pay heed to what the servers tell you... And make reservations in advance. The restaurant fills up quickly. They definitely deserve the accolades they have received.
What an amazing spot! When I think of train stations or airports, etc., I don’t think of quality food. On a layover in Denver, I did some research for restaurants close to Union Station. Imagine my surprise when many people suggested Mercantile IN Union Station. I originally had a reservation for right when they opened but ended up ordering takeout due to some last-minute changes in plans. The staff were really accommodating in getting me served and sent on my way quickly. I sat at the bar and soaked in the beautiful space as I waited for my food. From the bar area, one can see into the open kitchen. The dining room toward the back looked lovely. Prices are on the higher end, but the food quality was immaculate. I felt boring ordering a burger, but the ingredient list made it a no-brainer. This was one of the best burgers I’d had in years. The flavor profile melded perfectly into a juicy rich meal. The fries were delicious and came with two dipping sauces. Takeout food often feels cheaper, but they packed this well. I couldn’t resist trying a ham and cheese croissant as well. The only detraction to my meal was I wish they’d at least offered to warm up the pastry. The croissant was delicious and perfectly balanced. Many stuffed pastries spew innards everywhere but this one held together well. The flaky crust was divine. I was also pleased by how safe the area felt. I had seen online the area went through some serious struggles in the past few years. I felt safe walking around the area.
Fantastic experience as always. Very attentive and friendly staff, airy and spacious ambiance, menu is seasonal and always fresh and innovative. Worth repeating over and over!Food: 5/5
I have wanted to eat here forever and finally with Denver restaurant week I decided to come. I couldn’t be more disappointed. We ordered the risotto and it was very undercooked with cheap flavor and the flatiron steak was tough. The only reason I gave this place three stars was for their croissant bread pudding. 06/08/2024 I came here for lunch and ordered the chicken sandwich. The flavors were very good, maybe a tad bit salty. The fries were somewhat soggy and the picture of the portion of fries they have on their website is laughable compared to what you receive.
This is now our favorite restaurant in Denver!! The food is quite amazing! Chef Alex makes truly extraordinary sauces to compliment his outstanding dishes! Leave room for the most delicious bread pudding you will ever eat! The service was wonderful from Brandon at the front desk to our server who could not have been lovelier. We are going back soon with friends!!
Loved the vibes in here!! And just had to give such a sweet shoutout to Felicia who I had to take a pic of for y’all!! for being such a bubbly & lovely personality!! The entire coffee/bar staff were so sweet! She was so kind to explain and make sure I loved my coffee order & it was def made with LOVE! I got a latte with sweet condensed milk, oat milk, & their imported sea salt caramel! HEAVENLY. thank you Felicia & other staff! I would def go again!
I had a 13hr layover in Denver on March 18th so I spent the day going to multiple restaurants trying food. I stopped in here to eat & charge my phone. The lady who took my order was not only THE KINDEST but super accommodating, showed me where I could charge my phone too! Let me add that the very handsome I want to say red headed?! taller chef I could see back there MADE ME HONEY MUSTARD?! I ordered fried pickles because it’s my favorite snack & when I asked for honey mustard the waitress said let me ask if we have any and I overheard the entire thing… He said “no we don’t have any but I can make some!” I thought it was SO thoughtful. This place is a 10/10!
