When my 3 yo daughter woke up experiencing acute pain in her leg I tried four different walk-in clinics and her pediatrician before I made the trip to Mercy ER. I was to the point of tears knowing a ER visit was the last thing I could afford right now. The front end staff immediately noticed and gave me options. Paperwork didn't need to be done right away and I could focus on my daughter. The nurses were so kind, singing with her and introducing themselves. The X-ray tech Karen and the lady that assisted her were amazing and I truly appreciate them all. Especially our doctor: an ER doctor, who still took the time to follow up with us after our visit. Mercy is what care looks like
10 years ago I started coming to mercy and I had a wonderful doctor with wonderful results. Today my doctor is in administration and is almost unavailable to me. The patient portal is a joke and I still can't get in so contacting my doctor is impossible. When I called to get help the woman was incredibly rude and I got no where.I couldn't be more disappointed and I will pursue other health care at this point.
The VA told me to go in for abdominal pain. Waited 2 hours without being seen. Told the front desk I appreciate their time, and left. If it goes from painful to extreme I’ll call the ambulance. Front desk people were nice for sure, but all my energy is drained so I’m gonna go pass out at home. If I don’t wake up, Northern Lights has done me a service. 8/5 stars.
The doctor, or whatever he was, In the ER today was such a condescending a** that I didn't even want him to examine my injury or anything else for that matter. My mother drove me all the way over there, over 50 miles one way, because she had heard that this was a good hospital. It seemed no different to me than any other low quality health care establishment. It's really disgraceful to treat patients with likely fractures like that.
Every single medical professional, from the front desk, RNs, aides, xray tech's, CT department, my doctor was absolutely AMAZING. I came into the ER very worried and anxious about the way I was feeling. They were all reassuring, kind and above all, listened to my concerns. My care was prompt, and thorough. Everyone was so sweet, and caring. If you need the help of amazing medical staff, this is the place to go!
The worst with taking care of a POC patient! My dad had a 8:45 A.M. APPOINTMENT and it went past 3:30 P.M. and he still wasn’t seen. Everyone came and went. He and I was just sitting there waiting to be waited on, being told it’s really busy. He hasn’t had a drink or anything from the midnight before!
On 3/15/22 I had a left total knee replacement done at NL Mercy Hospital. At 53 years of age I never thought I would be going through this so young but there I was. I am beyond impressed with the care I got from the moment I checked in to the minute I checked out. I am a nurse by profession so I tend to be hyper critical in all areas of health care and as they say, doctors and nurses are the worst patients. I try not to be but I know what should and should not be done and that is not always good. That being said the staff was on point!! Sierra, Anisa, Jenn, Cindy, Megan, Vanessa were some of THE BEST Nurses and CNA’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I never had to wait long when I rang my bell, I never felt like I was bothering them when I rang my bell, they always made sure I had everything I needed right by me before they left my room, always made sure I had fresh water. The ultimate was the night of my surgery post-op I was having some pain and having a hard time getting it under control. I can not praise Sierra traveling nurse enough!! I usually have a high tolerance to pain but I was on the bell frequently and very uncomfortable. Sierra never made me feel awful about ringing my bell, she was right in there trouble shooting even checking on me before I had the chance to ring my bell. She asked the on call doc to try a med that she had success with at another facility she worked at which in fact helped take a lot of the edge off and get the pain in control. She also took the time to just have a conversation with me, which kind of helped my anxiety a lot at that moment. I learned she had only been a nurse for 2.5 years!! Sierra was my saving grace at that moment but truthfully ALL of them were. I could not be more happy. The hospital is beautiful, my surgical team was A++ and I can’t say enough good things about the nursing staff I had on the 4th floor. I highly recommend!!
Mercy is the hospital to go to! their nurses and doctors are knowledgeable and compassionate unlike maine med.
Have recently switched my care to Northern Light Mercy at Fore River. The level of professionalism, empathy, and interpersonal communication skills that have been demonstrated by every member of every team that I have interacted with, has been impeccable!!!! I have felt completely safe, completely cared for and most importantly, respected. I have been able to feel exactly like me, and not a number or a bother. That is how healing happens!!! Thank you to all at Mercy!!!!!
So glad I made the hour and a half trip from where I live. Beyond excellent service, very compassionate and thorough to my situation. Probably the best hospital in maine
