I wish there was an option for zero stars!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!! SHE IS RUDE, CONDESCENDING, AND UNAVAILABLE!!! She represented a friend of mine and I recently overheard their entire conversation when I was called on accident. I could not believe this was a professional that she was talking to in a meeting. She will take your money and you will never talk to her. You will be her paralegals client. I did hear her admit that the bill was wrong. From the reviews on here, I can see that most people have had a hard time with her on a communication level. I work with over 12000 people and I plan on telling as many people as I can to steer clear.

Ms. Messman is one of the best attorneys in Hampton Roads and I recommend you read this review if you are looking for an Attorney. Ms. Messman is one of the most talented and HONEST attorneys I have ever met and is 100% dedicated to her craft. She truly is one of the GOOD ones and her practice goes against the typical sleazy lawyer stereotype. For that reason, I felt compelled to give an honest review of Ms. Messman after reading some of the ignorant comments left on Google by former clients. The practice of law is complicated and no result is ever guaranteed. The system is imperfect and run by imperfect people. Further, each case is unique, and in reading the reviews it is very easy to tell who had a favorable outcome and who did not. You have to have realistic expectations about the outcome (and Ms. Messman tells it like it is, whether you like it or not) and you have to pay for her services. Just as your electricity would be shut off if you do not pay your bill, if you refuse to pay your attorney as you agreed, your attorney will not work on your case and will eventually withdraw. Further, you also have to be truthful and communicate with your attorney if you expect them to represent you before the Court! All in all, if you are looking for an HONEST and EXCELLENT courtroom attorney, you cannot go wrong with Ms. Messman. Further, I can say from personal knowledge that Ms. Messman is the Attorney that local Attorneys and Law Enforcement send their family and friends to, and I would recommend my family and friends to her without hesitation.

Jenna I COMEPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU MESSMAN REALLY IS A MESS.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAW PRACTICE TO ANYONE. SHE ACTS AS IF SHE IS BATTING FOR YOU WHEN SHE REALLY IS NOT ! I WANTED TO SEE PROOF IN MY SONS CASE AND SHE ACTED AS IF SHE COULD NOT ONLY BECAUSE SHE SAW I WAS DOING MY HOMEWORK TRYING TO HELP HIM AND SHE TRIED TO SABATAGE. SHE WAS WORKING WITH ANOTHER ATTORNEY ON HIS CASE AND HE WAS SO HELPFUL EVEN Gave me paperwork CONCERNING MY SONS CASE AND SHE TOLD HIM NOT TO TALK TO ME,WHY? BECAUSE SHE WAS NOT ON OUR SIDE EVEN THOUGH WE PAID HER VERY VERY GOOD MONEY, THAAT SHE NORMALLY WOULD NOT GET IN A CASE. BUT TO GOD BE THE GLORY! I NEVER PUT REVIEWS BUT I NEED PEOPLE TO NOT PUT THERE ISSUES IN MESSMAN LAWS HANDS YOU WILL REGRET IT!

She's very very good at talking up how she's going to win your case But when it comes to swinging in the court room, she's a light weight... She looks good when she's fighting ... Just does not pack much force behind her punches.

I was very impressed with how quick, smart and direct she was. She made sure the details were clear, concise and to the point. She didn't allow trivialities and wasn't easily fooled. Of course, we won the case because of her.
