Metabolic LEADER is a private practice of providers and staff who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of metabolic disorders of the endocrine system. Our office was opened on November 15, 2010 by Dr. Stephan Babirak to provide the highest quality patient –focused healthcare in the southern Maine region.
The Metabolic LEADER staff consists of four providers, three IV therapy nurses, three medical assistants, two medical secretaries, a receptionist, a lab technician, a phlebotomist and a practice manager all committed to offering superior care and service with integrity and compassion.
Our state-of-the-art facility offers a point of service (POS) laboratory for convenient blood draw and accurate, consistent results; an apheresis treatment center for acute lowering of LDL; in-house Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) testing; IV infusion room for diagnostic testing and treatments of endocrine diseases; as well as an always growing list of other services developed for the needs of our patients. From the use of our electronic medical records system to our e-prescribing capabilities, we strive to ensure that healthcare received at our office will be safe, secure and up-to-date.
Metabolic LEADER plays an active role in the community by hosting our Quarterly Lecture Series and our annual “Follow the LEADER” walk to support the American Diabetes Association each November. See our News and Events page for more details.
