I saw Dr. Rahul Pandit in his office to be evaluated for a cataract. I was seen and told I had a cataract i knew I had a cataract in my R eye that had progressed. After my appointment I was asked to wait to speak with surgery coordinator who was to provide me information on prepping for pre surgery appt. I waited, and was never seen by the surgery coordinator, because they were busy with other patients. I was told a surgery coordinator would call me, and schedule a follow up visit I never rec'd that call. Shortly afterwards i changed jobs and since my insurance would change I didn't have an urgency to proceed with the procedure, until my new insurance was effective. I now have my new insurance, and provided the office the updated insurance. I asked to speak with the surgery coordinators, since I now have insurance. After waiting two weeks with no calls from the office, I called to speak with a surgery coordinator. After several calls, a surgery coordinator returned my call, and shared with me the expectation that I not wear my hard contacts for 4 weeks in order to get measured for the cataract surgery that was recommended. The surgery coordinator also told me not the doctor I had cataracts in both eyes. I informed the surgery coordinator I don't have any glasses with a current prescription the only pair of glasses I own is 15 years old, and I asked to get a call back from the doctor to discuss my surprise I have cataracts in both eyes, and to see how he thought I should proceed considering my glasses prescription was old. For some people having a glasses prescription wouldn't seem like a huge issue, but my prescription is very strong and I my optometrist was unsuccessful the previous year trying to prescribe glasses with my current prescription. I never rec'd a call from the doctor, and never received a call from a surgery coordinator after several attempts. I stopped wearing my contacts so I could move forward with getting measured to prepare for the cataract removal. I'm currently wearing glasses with a prescription that is 15 years old, and I had headaches and sensitivity to lights getting adjusted to wearing these glasses daily. I called the office, spoke with someone in scheduling, explained the purpose of my call, and they scheduled me for a surgical consult appointment. I still asked to have the surgery coordinator and the office manager give me a call to discuss my concerns and ask questions. I never rec'd a call from Dr. Pandut, a surgery coordinator or the office manager. The lack of communication and failure to return the patient's call s not acceptable. The office staff made it very clear when they didn't respond to my calls, they do not put the patient first. I will not move forward with getting my procedure done here, and I wound not recommend anyone to this office after my awful experience. I am extremely appalled in the manner in which I was treated as a patient, especially since I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years arranging post acute services to patients in the hospital setting.
Unethical billing practices. I was asked to pay an amount as a copay and after the visit, I was billed an extra 43% for no good reason. No additional procedures were done, it was a standard visit. The reception staff is always borderline abrasive and they typically run late. Not what you expect from an institution that claims to "lead medicine". I will not be returning.
I am very impressed with my physician. He provides up to date care and is very kind. His assistant is very nice and thoroughly The front desk is competent and gracious. I had an unexpected health emergency and everyone took care of me and the nurse took me to the emergency nurse, staying with me until I was being seen. My only complaint is the wait time is always very long.
Dr. Queen did my cataract surgery and made sure that with all my allergies every precaution were taken before and after surgery. Very Good Listener, Knowledgeable and Professional. Sarah Chapman, one of her assistant, yep she is so in touch with my recovery, I know her complete name, should be assigned to all elderly patients, she has a Gift.
My first appointment with Dr. Miller was on 05/21/2021. He and all of his staff members exhibited a high degree of professionalism as well as a very friendly manner. They all listened carefully to my concerns and answered my questions in a way that I fully understood. I look forward to working with Dr. Miller in improving my vision issues.
I am very particular about which health care professionals I choose. They must be grounded in Science, well-read, and focused on my outcomes, not their bank account. That said, Methodist Eye Associates provide outstanding medical care, with top-notch staff that truly care about their patients. This group was recommended to me by a noted cardiologist that I respect greatly. No disappointments. No long waits. Eye care options offered were based on science and out-of-pocket costs to me.
I will comment on the wait time. Over the past 3 years we have walked out of her office three times now due to excessive wait time. Our distance is over an hour and as Seniors we pick up grandchildren from schools by 4:00PM. Our time is also valuable. But we have stayed if the wait time is under 45 minutes. Our last visit we walked as we had another appointment in Smith Tower at 2:30PM and we had been sitting in Dr. Beaver's office since 12:45PM. We left at 2:15PM and have not returned. I recently had Cataract surgery . I do have some issues but am scared of the wait times. I recently had a Stroke. Once you do see Dr. Beaver she is a very nice doctor. I wish we did not have to wait for an hour to see her. -:
I've been a patient of Dr. Lee for almost four years. He always has my best interest at heart, explains everything in-depth and thoroughly, and can pinpoint additional medical needs or concerns from my pseudotumor diagnosis. He is quirky, hilarious, and overall the best doctor on the planet for neuro-ophthalmology. I've never left his office frustrated, confused, or with the desire to switch providers. I have raved about him to my ophthalmologist, and she has since started referring patients to him. The wait can be long and daunting at times, but I know there are others with a diagnosis way more severe than mine and need that time in his office.
Beware of this group. They have a ridiculous policy about paperwork. My daughter is totally blind so there is really no reason to even go to the an eye doctor. Her school said she needed an eye exam report filled out for her records so she could continue to get VI services at school. I had been to see this doctor 4 years ago but the paperwork needed to be updated. So, I made the appointment and went. The doctor even asked me why I was there. I told her the school needed an updated form. Of course, I had left the paperwork at home. The doctor told me "No Problem, just fax it over I'll take care of it." So, I faxed it over a few days later. Now, the office staff tells me they won't fill out the paperwork until I pay them $25. This is a 2 page form with boxes to check which would take 1 minute to complete. These people are supposed to be doctors, not a bank. How hard is it to fill out a short form and fax it back? Very disappointing. I will find a practice who actually cares about it's patients and not about gouging the customer every chance it can.
This is the most inefficien business which I have seen in a while. I am captive at Methodist Hospital and was wheeled over to this clinic for testing and consultation with one of the doctors. I have been sitting in the waiting room unattended for over 1.5 hours for testing. The waiting room is packed with others similarly waiting. Very frustrating! The plus is that Doctor Lee's exam was done with little wait and he is truly a top notch physician.
