After spinal surgery, I was on the 8th floor for a week. Every single nurse I came in contact with was extremely professional. I hate asking for help, but was forced to, frequently. Never once did I feel I was “just a job” to them. I felt like each person genuinely cared about my progress. Thank you for making a scary experience a good one.
I was here for a week. Rails on bed and given 4 urinal jugs to use as they said to use them. So had to pour urine from one 'main' jug so I could reuse the other three. Nurse came in once a shift and emptied the one that was usually about half full, no rinse out. Of course had no way to wash hands for meals. Is this hospital samitation procedures?
I 100% agree with other comments that say not to go here if you are black. My husband and I were both in separate rooms, and agreed we both had really weird encounters. They constantly disregarded how we were feeling, and continuously gave misinformation. They honestly sounded stupid and rude. One of the physicians even found it necessary to scream my results in the hospital hallway. Then had the nerve to says “oops.. sorry”. Do not go to this hospital/ emergency room. My family and I have to still be seen somewhere else. They literally rushed us out and we have never experienced anything like this before.
Absolutely TERRIBLE!! Avoid at all costs! Go to a different hospital! Can't find the emergency area, parking is horrendous! No Air Conditioning in the waiting area. So hot the staff are using fans! Been here 2 hours and still haven't been placed into a room. Just sitting in the waiting area. Feels like complete chaos!!
Outside of the welcome team in the front this is THE WORST hospital I’ve ever been to. Upon arrival I notified the staff that my family had been possibly exposed to lead and black mold. Instead of testing for Lead and mold exposewhich they insisted they couldn’t do they decided to only test for Covid even when we told them we took 2 at home tests and carbon monoxide. The doctors didn’t take us seriously even going as far as laughing at my wife when discussing her health issues. Apparently to them the only way lead can enter your body is if you consume it paint chips. Which ISN’T true you can also BREATHE in lead dust and if your pipes are older it can get into the drinking and bathing water!! My wife STILL has severe abdominal pain and this hospital did NOTHING!!! NO X-rays nor any ultrasounds I really can’t believe it…
I was in there to be seen for a for a diabetes sat there in the waiting room. They're in the waiting room for over hour and a 1/2 nobody even came to check on me except check blood pressure. There was over 12 people in the white room and nobody has gotten seen or was called to the back room that whole entire time I was there. I asked if I could go to my car and take care of my sugars since they where dropping. I was told no if I do I will have to check back in and wait some more. They don't care about you. The front desk tell me that I would have to check back in and wait longer to be seen. They do not care if my sugar dropped. She said that I'm in the right place for it. ‍
I am an African American woman and every time I come down to this hospital or someone close to me we get a bad experience with people in the ER just bluntly rude.. Today on December 29th at 7:00pm my fiancé came in to be seen and the workers did not disclose to my Fiancé the wait time, a person of lighter decent entered 2 hours later just for her to suggest for them to “go to women’s hospital because the wait here is over 3 hours.” This is a specific example. So many times we always seem to be disclosed of certain information when it comes to simple things like wait times, or really anything. Also, he was asked what his pain levels were, he said 2 when he doesn’t do anything but a 10 whenever he completes everyday task, like changing our daughters diapers, cooking food, etc. and this nurse decided to write down the number 2. So I’m not sure if he was not seen because he was not taken seriously, but I will be speaking out about this particular location and hospital.
Had a Heart Attack and ended up staying in the Cardiac Unit on the 9th floor for a week. Must say I was Blown away by the level of care I received from the ER to my Heart Cathe, then my discharge. Best Hospital and nurses hands down.
Only reason I’m putting 2 stars is because of the nurses in the ER. They were phenomenal. Dr Rankin has the absolute worst bedside manner of any physician I’ve ever seen. I will be filing a formal complaint based on the treatment of my mother last night.
A gentleman that my husband and I have gaurdianship of was hospitalized here. While I felt the care he got was excellent, I was very frstrated and disappointed in the lack of care or understanding given by the team there with finding appropriate care for him following his discharge. I felt they just wanted to get rid of him, regardless if it was safe or not.
