Terrible service. I took my camera to have a small plastic piece repaired, every week I called and was told they would have it ready by the end of the week. After months I finally said I was going to come in and get my camera back from them. The next day, I get a call saying the camera is repaired and to come get it. Sounds fishy... so I come in, they charge me $150, then I walk out to my car and open up the plastic bag. My camera was still broken!!! I stormed in asking what they charged me for, they said 'a sensor cleaning' which I didn't approve!!! They wouldn't refund the charge either, now I have to call Visa to have it disputed. Terrible service, terrible!!!
Metro Camera should be reported to BBB. I paid the $35 upfront tech fee in good faith that they would let me know in a timely manner whether or not to repair the camera before my vacation. They called me in a few days to tell me the problem was a stuck shutter and my camera would be ready in a week--the day before I left for vacation. I was okay with the additional cost of $115 to repair the camera, rather than purchasing a new camera for vacation. I called the day I was told it would be ready, and the front desk says"Oh, I don't know if the tech has looked at it." She called back to say the camera would be ready two days after the original date of pickup--which was two days into my vacation. So I was screwed. No repaired camera, and no time to shop for a new one--which is what I would have done had they called me even a couple of days before to say the camera wouldn't be ready....No apology, no offer to lower the cost to keep my business, just attitude, argument, and insistance that they never promised anything when they told me when to pick it up! Wolf Camera recommended them. I wouldn't recommend them to an enemy. TERRRIBLE businesspeople!
I took my Nikon Camera in for a small repair in Dec 2012 and today is June 4th. They refuse to return calls and cannot locate my camera. I went over to their shop last week and a clerk was there who saw my name on the system but no camera. I also paid the estimated repair charge of $125 up front. Englewood Camera recommended them and I have called them to alert them for future referrals. What a sham and I have no camera.
I have taken my Canon SLR twice to Metro Camera while travelling for cleaning and a damage assessment and they were fantastic. They were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable plus both times they prioritized my camera issues ahead of others because they knew I was travelling and only had a few days in Denver before I had to leave again so thank you guys! This is the best camera repair shop I have ever been to in the world. I could recommend them more highly and rate my customer experience more highly. Keep up the good work
They should not even have FAIR on this rating. Our camera has been there for 1 month. We told them we did not want repairs, if it was not just an adjustment we would pick the camera up. These guys are still looking for parts. They took our 45 dollars when we brought in the camera. I suggest you just don't pay these guys in advance. We are going to pick up our camera, stop payment on the transaction. How do they stay in business. My next stop is the BBB.
If you expect ANY customer service, go elsewhere. Took my Canon T2i in for a power issue and they seemed responsive. I was a little nervous when I watched Holly place every customer on hold during the 15 minutes I was there. They "fixed" the camera, which promptly died again when I got it home. Attempted to call, no luck, so took the camera back for the 2nd time. They never called. never. Several weeks later, after attempting to call them and being placed on infinite hold, I finally got through and Holly gave me a "I just put it on the technician's desk". Again, no call on repair. 2 days later, I just went and picked the camera up, "repaired", brought it home and it died again 24 hours later. Holly convinced us that a 3rd attempt would be the charm, and the cycle repeated - no calls, finally after many attempts got through and the camera was "placed on the technician's desk". A week later, I still have heard nothing. They mean well, but are understaffed and overwhelmed. Don't go there if you have any expectation of a positive customer service experience. Clearly, they don't have any competition if they are still in business in this day and age.
I took my Canon Rebel xti camera in last fall to have it simply cleaned. I did not use it over the winter and in the spring went to use it and the focus screen had many black spots on it. I was alarmed as it had been in the case with the lense cap stored. I took it back and asked what they did to cause this. They told me they would look at it - what did I do to it. I said I had not had it out of the case until I went to use it upon discovering the spots. This was mid June, 2013. It is Sep. 4th and I do not have my camera. I call and they do not answer. If they do I am put on hold and they do not return to the call. I was told at least 3 times it would be done by Friday. I would go to pick it up and it was not done. The lady June that seems to run the place does not tell the truth. She finally told me they have to order a new focus screen - they do not know what happened to it. Several weeks - now months and I do not have my camera. I went in a couple of Friday's ago to pick it up again and she was driving away. A man was at the counter. He checked on it and said that the part was there but the guy that repairs this type repair was out. I said this is the 5th time I have come here to get my camera. I have not been able to use my camera all summer!!! He apologized and said he would have it repaired and would ship it to me at no cost. I gave him my business card and requested that it be shipped to my work as I did not want it sitting on my porch or in the heat all day. That was over two and a half weeks ago and I have not received my camera!! I called and left a VM. No reply. I will NEVER go to Metro Camera again. I just want my camera back and in working order. This place is unprofessional and I question their abilities to repair as they caused this issue with my camera with the spots when they did a simple cleaning. I had NO ISSUES before going to Metro Camers. Four months, many trip and calls to Metro and I still do not have my camera back. Think twice before using this 'Certified Canon Repair Shop"!! I will never go back and I hope I get my camera back.
Took my camera in for a minor repair. For weeks, unable to contact them. Left voicemails and sent emails that were never answered. When I finally reached them, I asked for a status on my repair order, and the response was, "I suppose I could do that." I kept calling every few days while there were various excuses about the part being order, no one had cataloged the latest shipment, the tech being out, or busy installing software. Each time I asked if it would be ready soon, the response was "We're hoping!" I had to pay $35 upfront, and they tried to get me to pre-pay the entire estimate. Two months after dropping it off, I went to get it fixed or not. Overheard the tech saying that he wouldn't order the part, and they would just charge another diagnostic fee if I ever brought it in again. The business model seems to be to collect fees without doing work, which is what they did to me, but not as bad as they've done to others.
Took my Nikon D80 in on June 22nd. Was getting a error message. Paid $35. Heard nothing so on July 2nd I called. The lady said they tried to fix it but couldn't and that they would have to ship it out to Nikon. I asked why they hadn't called. She didn't know. They needed an estimate from Nikon. Heard nothing. Called 7/17, put me on long hold. Said they couldn't find the Nikon estimate. 7/27 got a call from Metro. Nikon estimate $278.79. I said "lets do it". Had to go to Metro camera and pay the money. Heard nothing so I called them 9/4 now we're into September!. They can't get into the Nikon web site. Will call me back. I gave her my phone number twice since it seems they never call. Not sure if they called back but I do have a note that I talked with them and they told me it takes 4-6 weeks after Nikon gives approval. They finally called me imagine that! 9/18 and said the camera was back. So....$300 and three months later I get my camera back. Missed the camera on a nice trip to Alaska and other places. Metro blames the tsunami. Also, when you call, half the time the call goes to a recording which becomes irratating. Looking for another Nikon authorized dealer in Denver.
This is the most disorganized, incompetent business imaginable. After you drop off your camera for repair, you soon begin to wonder whether you'll ever see it again. They don't call you when they say they will or at all, really, they don't pick up their phone, they don't return voice mails, and they're even closed when their business hours say they should be open. It's a real testament to how few camera places there are in Denver that this place is still in business. Unless you want to enter the camera black hole, do yourself a favor, take your business elsewhere!
