Young Artists Debut! Concert Concert
Each winter the Young Artists Debut! Concerto Competition winners were announced. The soloists, selected from over 70 entrants at the competition’s final round, perform in a one night only concert with Niel DePonte and an orchestra drawn from the ranks of the Oregon Symphony and Oregon Ballet Theatre orchestras.
YAD! Soloist & Orchestral Camps:
Solo Piano and Duo Camp - July 5-15, 2011, Marylhurst University
A 10-day program focusing on solo, concerto, 4-hand and piano/string sonata repertoire, July 5-15. Only 16 pianists will be admitted. Faculty: Susan Smith and Carol Rich
String Players Soloist and Orchestra Camp - July 7-15, 2011, Marylhurst University
An 8-day program focusing on solo, duo and orchestral repertoire with the opportunities to perform in a high quality string orchestra alongside featured Oregon Symphony musicians. Faculty: Jun Iwasaki, Ines Voglar, Joël Belgique, and Nancy Ives.

MetroArts Kids Camp: Building on 19 years of summer fun for campers ages 7-12. Campers rotate through classes in Visual Arts, Music, Theater and Dance each day on the different stages and performing spaces in the Portland Center for Performing Arts. July 11-15 and 18-22.
Creating Minds Symposium: In October 2010, we brought world renowned Dr. Howard Gardner to Portland for a two day symposium of lectures, discussions all based on where do we go with Arts Education. Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2011 CMS Featured Speaker.

MetroArts mission consists of three fundamental objectives to support the ideal:

* To educate about the arts of all cultures, provide insight into the process of creative thought and experiences with creativity itself. To promote access to the arts through participation, creation and reflection for all.
* To create partnerships that enable arts education to thrive in the public schools.
