Eli is the BEST! Her cuts and color skills are pure perfection! And everyone is salon is welcoming and helpful. Can’t say enough good things about this salon!
Once again, a fabulous spashampoo from Liz and “perfect” haircut by owner, Michael. They’re all focused on making this a total experience…all about You! Hope you can score an appointment!! Holiday Cheers, SusieServices: Hairstyling
From the first phone call, everyone at Metropolis was professional and courteous. Always nervous to try a new hair place, I was tentative. However, I was greeted by a friendly face and a warm smile and then met Eli, my new hair master! I left the salon feeling lighter and like a million bucks. Thank you! I plan on being a customer for years to come.Services: Hairstyling
Eli is great, very talented, and I really recommend her service. That said, I was literally appalled by the request of Michael Talavera, the owner of the salon, *not to speak* to her while waiting for my color to finish mind that it was no conversation, I was asking questions precisely about the service. I have *never* heard of such request before in a hair salon, and will never step there again.Services: Haircut
I have been going to Michael at Metropolis Salon for over two years and am a very satisfied customer. Michael is a great stylist. I have a particular way that I like my hair cut and he always gets it right! Michael also does my highlights full and partial and they always look great. One more thing - Michael is very punctual, which I love. I make sure I arrive on time for my appointment, and am confident I will be taken promptly. I highly recommend Metropolis Salon!
I booked a cut with Nina for the same day as a photo shoot, never having been to this salon before, which felt risky. She did a terrific job translating what I wanted my curly hair but “bigger” and my hair got lots of compliments. I recommend Nina!
Love love LOVE Eli!! She knocked it outta the park. She's both an artist & perfectionist. My hair looks amazing. I'm super excited to try out different colors in the future and so happy that I found my salon & stylist on my 1st try in DC. She is really good at communicating even with someone who literally doesn't understand the 1st thing about hair or color.
I almost never give one star, this is for the overall experience in this Salon. Throughout the visit, Michael, who did the cut which was average was disrespectful and made me feel like he was rushing to finish my haircut. Overall I would not come back because of the level of disrespect from Michael and from the person washing my hair. I had accidentally discovered that a pen broke and spilled inside my bag. This happened as I was paying. Instead of trying to help me in anyway, Michael circled around me and was more nervous about my things being out on the counter then trying to help me, a customer, in any way and refused to give me paper towels at first. When I did ask him for a paper towel to clean up the ink, the shampoo girl gave me half of a paper towel and when they finally allowed me to go to a sink with a paper towels, they refused to help anymore. In fact, Michael and she told me not to use any more paper towels because of the “environmental impact” and actually Michael was more worried about a customer using $2 worth of paper towels after paying $120 for a haircut was such disconnect.. They just stood there and did nothing and instead were hovering near me as I was trying to clean up my purse. It was truly a strange experience, because I was a first time customer and I had even invited a friend to stop in and inquire for a consultation, because I wanted to provide business for a salon during this trying time for small, local businesses. In DC, there are many great hair salons. This is not one of them. I would go to another salon in the area, that actually treats customers well and has great service. Both Michael and the shampoo person spoke to me in a disrespectful way, rushed me out, and provided zero customer service.
