It is a nice venue with excellent sound and sight lines. Tickets are fairly priced and they book good very diverse acts. The legroom is not particularly generous however. They set up a bar table with wine at $8 a glass.
It was a wonderful venue. First time there. Didn't know about this place. Noticed they have a lot of shows there. My only problem was no air conditioning. So most of us including members of the group I went to see where fanning ourselves. Also the venue should post a sign that there is an elevator for the handicapped. If there is one noted in lobby entrance, i apologize some handicap visitors didn't see it & had trouble maneuvering the stairs. Otherwise would definitely visit again. People should get on their mailing list. They have some great comedians, it is also close to subway & parking lots close by at reasonable rates.
What a great little theater we recently discovered. Perfect location if you work or live downtown, but also the size of the theater is such that there is no bad seat. The shows, so far all dance, we have seen so far have all be great. Both creative and fun. The price is also quite affordable and therefore I would recommend this little theater happily.
Great venue with an eclectic mix of programming particularly stong on music and dance.
Good sized theater with views from every seat in the house. They just renovated the lobby and adjoining University so everything is very clean and new! The programming isn't all that great so you really have to look for the shows you want to go see.
Went here with the rest of my documentary crew to screen the film we made. Very clean and upscale, good acoustics, and plenty of seating. Large lobby to mingle with guests or set up a space for photos.
The center is pretty and clean. The lighting helps keep your focus on the speakers. However if you are taller than average, or if you need more leg room, try to sit on the front row. My left leg was hurting so I decided to sit on the first seat on the left of a row in the middle.
Schimmel center is a top not j performance space. I have been here for several performing arts events. I have two related feelings about this venue: I wish more people knew about its fine ptogramming. I am glad it is an obscure location because fewer folks in the audience means I always can get a good seat.
Except for the fact that there was little to no a/c & paying for a hot bottle of water. I saw an amazing show. Nice venue. Seems like every seat.was a good one!
Nice new medium sized venue. Mid up Mezzanine seats are close enough to not feel need for binoculars, and slope is so no one is blocked by seat in front
