I dropped off a holographic picture at the location the 28th of September to have framed. The lady in the framing department there was very nice and explained the different frame styles and prices. Today I tried to call in today to have it checked on and was placed on hold for ten minutes. So they get a solid 3 out of 5 for good customer service, but long holding times on the phone.
Apparently, they don't allow shoppers to use their restroom or provide any help to their customers. I was shopping at this store with my children picking out craft activities when my toddler told me she needed to go potty. I found a Michaels employee and was told they don't have restrooms and to go to Target. Not sure if you have ever met a toddler, but they typically ask for a bathroom when they absolutely have to go right then. Next, as I was rushing through the self-checkout an older woman asked for a checker and was told by the staff member that you just have to use the self-checkout now. I couldn't believe I witnessed such terrible service. Just FYI Michaels there are other craft stores around and there is this place Amazon, not sure if you've heard.
I love the craft store but for some reason they do have a public restroom. Not such a big deal when you go in without a kid but when you’ve got a toddler that’s got to go that’s a bit frustrating.
Self checkout is a nightmare hellscape. Perhaps if you can’t employ enough people to run a store, you should offer them a competitive wage and benefits instead of pushing their job on to your customers. Thank you to the very friendly employee who did ring my purchase because that system was unusable. Additionally, are you legally allowed to call yourself a craft store if you don’t carry rhinestones, the god tier arts and crafts supply??!
The self check out machine did not print me a receipt when I purchased yarn. When I asked a worker about it I was simply told there was nothing I they could do so I just would not be receiving a receipt for my purchase. Not only is that terribly inconvenient but illegal…… I’d take my business somewhere else.
They have great deals here. I came for some Christmas decor and got alot on sale. I got this beautiful tree skirt that was normally $40 for $16.
Michael's has a huge selection of overly priced art supplies. There's everything you may need for any number of projects if you have the money. But what I experienced on my recent visit for beads & paint was aggravating. You have to self check-out unless you are paying with cash! There aren't any employees to do that job unless you have CASH ONLY! I H8 self check-out. It eliminates hundreds of thousands of jobs. Allows stores to save money, pay fewer employees less money & creates savings for the company that isn't passed onto the customers & the last time I checked I don't work at Michael's!?!? There is a need for options for people who prefer the tried & true method of customer service & an actual employee of the company to do the actual job for the company! Plus any number of legal problems can arise from using self check-out. Item not scanned properly & customer accused of shoplifting. Also people not being able to navigate self check-out. But to make it mandatory suddenly? Boo Michael's!!
You can find just about anything you want here ! My only disappointment is that there has not been more than one cashier and one employee on the floor to help people like me that find it frustrating to find what you want in such a LARGE store! Since it is not easy for me to walk I avoid going here. All in All if you feel like an adventure in crafting THIS IS THE PLACE.....
Getting a full sized truck and 53' trailer in the dock is not very easy. The dock is in the corner just past the Nordstrom dock. Michaels shares the dock with Big 5. Better hope for the 5am appointment because two full-size semi trucks will quadruple the difficulty.
Had to make a quick stop to pick up some florist foam. Grabbed it, checked our selves out and went on our way. Took us a couple of minutes to find the foam. Convenient store and location.
