Super amount of stock. Quality tools. Friendly service.
Super clean, great selection and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Good store and good prices. I recommend.
It's true that "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man"! Very helpful. Reasonable prices. Good assortment.
I want to like this place because I want to support the local hardware stores. But the staff here is not as knowledgable as I am used to fro TrueValue or Ace, and I have yet to leave the store with the item I was looking for. Granted, given the store rents in Midtown, they cannot have the range of goods that you find in a similar store in the suburbs but somehow this one has figured out how to serve my needs. I am new coop owner and have lots of little repairs and setup tasks - none if which I got accomplished with their help.
The salesperson was very helpful in assisting me on what I need to buy to fix my kitchen and bathroom. The materials I need. With respect n nice tone voice. Very happy.
I love these old-school hardware stores! If you just need 4 bolts or whatever, you don't have to buy a whole box of them, and sometimes they have things in sizes that the big-box stores won't have. This place is right around the corner from GCT so that's really convenient if you need to grab something quickly. I found the employees to be very helpful, they don't follow you around or anything but if you ask, they help you out.
I was visiting NYC but lost a screw to our stroller that made it basically impossible to fold up. The guy found the exact screw a common size but less common thread pitch, take it from an engineer and installed it on the spot. I asked "how much?" and he says "Don't worry about it." I just wanted to say "Thank you!"
If you need actual hardware, this is a good place to go. Bolts, washers, tiny metal pieces - they're good for that. Anything else will be 3x the price it should be. 1 cheaply made fabric laundry bag - $7. Pack of 3 xxlarge ziploc bags - $20 yes, you read that right. Upon walking in, I saw 2 older gentlemen talking near the entrance both in polos and they greeted me. I meandered for a bit, then needed assistance making keys so I went back to find an employee. I asked one of the men who had just said hello if he could help. He was leaning against the cashier counter now, with his belly exposed, running his hand over his chest and stomach in a relaxed manner. He said he did not work there and couldn't help me. Maybe he's just a friend who hangs out there, but it was weird. I got 3 keys made regular old keys, nothing fancy for $6.50. There was a line at the cashier but I had cash so I didn't wait. The key maker told me I could come back if the keys didn't work, but thankfully all 3 did. He also included a key ring with it regularly 25 cents. This was about $1 cheaper in total than a smaller hardware store 1 block away
Friendly service and clean and well organized store. You can find all of the necessities
