Visit this wonderful place last night. It was a very pleasant spot. Staff are polite and are very knowledgeable with explaining the menu to first timers also there recommendations don’t disappoint. Sushi are great tried the hairy Mexican sushi roll it was delicious also had crunchy spicy tuna were pretty good as well. Started off with pork and Philly cheesesteaks dumpling yes I said Philly cheese dumplings they were amazingly good with the combination of sauces. Will visit this place again definitely with a bigger group place is a good vibe all around. Bathrooms are squeaky clean as well top notch…
BEST SUSHI EVER!!! From the first bite it was delicious and immediately beat all other sushi spots around the country. Freshly made. Hand rolled. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us pick a few rolls. We had the Wilmington which was a basic roll with the salmon tempura that was amazing. We also had the Crazy tuna, which looked and tasted divine! Our favourite was the Hamachi Lover it was a burst of flavours in your mouth. The black pepper seared tuna was disappointing and rather plain and simple, nothing 'wow' about it. Service was slow despite an empty restaurant, so remember to order all your rolls at once, we ended up waiting quite a while for each. Parking: limited spots behind the restaurant, a few spots on the street.
Nice ambiance. Mikimotos is a definite recommended if youre getting sushi! The sushi is the best around and there are so many choices! The problem is the rest of the menu. Not impressive, at all. Even the drink I ordered was bad. We will definitely go back for sushi take out, but not to sit down.
Probably the best sushi in or around Wilmington. They have a broad array of sushi rolls and sashimi the best torro! and that's all along side of a great hot food dinner selection. A phenomenal twin Filetw/ spicy green beans, delicious Salmon, and even more. Great atmosphere and a great wait staff. On Friday and Saturday night definitely try and get there earlier...the sushi wait times can grow to over an hour because of how busy they may get. Other than that, which isn't even really their fault, everything is spectacular!! Definitely give it a chance, oh yeah, they do take reservations ;
Sometimes when things go wrong..they turn out amazing!! We drove from Jersey to another place, which was NOT what we were looking for, then Googled nearest Sushi...and thankfully wound up here!! I eat sushi across the country, EASILY Top 2 best experience I have had!! We came at lunch, many places "phone in" lunch, which is not ethical or customer friendly. MIKIMOTOS entire staff was crisp, efficient, and on the ball! Food was spectacular!! The Double Fantasy roll is mindblowing! Thank you everyone for taking my food allergy into consideration. This is a great place for a first date or a special occasion! One particular observation: All customers were treated with respect, from youngsters grabbing lunch to an elegant elderly woman and her companion who were having a lunch meeting. Thank you Mikimotos crew for a wonderful lunch!
Walking in I heard someone say “that was amazing,” and they were 100% right. Fantastic service, very generous portions and some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.
Mikimoto‘s is one of, if not the best, sushi restaurants in Wilmington, Delaware. Every time I have been there, the staff has been outstanding and the sushi is at work of art.
Food is awesome. New favorite to share is the green beans. Never knew they could taste so good and there was plenty. Server was super nice. We had a great time.
I sat at the bar. Friendly atmosphere: bartender and guests at the bar. Felt welcomed. And the food was PHENOMENAL: had miso soup, Hairy Mexican Sushi roll and some other one but can’t remember the name and the Whiskey Sours were delicious. Thank you!
Sushi is high quality. Got the Pocono Mountain top left Hairy Mexican top right and Mikimoto bottom rolls. The Mikimoto roll did not have the fish eggs, as my wife is pregnant. For dessert, yes she insists on feeding the unborn we got the churro doughnuts with ice cream. Will get again. Found them better than the fried Oreo cheesecake I had before, which had too much tempura for me.
