The drive up was beautiful and we were looking forward to riding through it all! My significant other and I are road-tripping through America and a lot of our activities are planned last minute, also being in the mountains we have limited phone reception. However, a lot of locals recommended horseback riding and mentioned this ranch close by. Upon arrival we were greeted by one of their female staffers (wranglers ?) and she had left a bad impression on us. We had asked her for some more information and was immediately informed they were completely booked, had been booked for weeks due to the holiday (7/4), and we should've called. Based on her attitude we should've just left, but we went ahead and asked her for any recommendations, she did give us two ranches, but continued to be very short with us. We thanked her, not sure why since she did nothing except make us feel extremely unwelcomed, as if we were wasting her time, and as we turned to go she needlessly informed us, again, we should've called. Indeed, it was a holiday week (not weekend), however that is not an excuse to be rude and short to those who are just looking for information. Despite the "holiday" we were able to go horse back riding at spring creek ranch who kindly took our last minute reservation. I will say, this place is beautifully tucked away in the mountains and most of the reviews are wonderful; we would've loved to have come back for another chance; we definitely understand things book up! However, it's unfortunate that her attitude towards us turned us off completely from this place. I guess we just got the unlucky draw of speaking with someone who was a bad apple in the bunch. Such is life.

Chose this ride after much research based on reviews and itinerary and it was a great choice. It's a fifth generation family owned ranch and their love of what they do really shows. We've been on a few trail rides with some horses that weren't very great and these horses were obviously well taken care of as they were healthy with great temperaments and were very enjoyable to ride. Our guide, Sadie, who is 5th generation was knowledgeable and friendly and fun. We did the 2 hour ride high up into the mountains and for us it was perfect. They offer a 4 hour ride but unless you're a frequent rider the longer ride is a bit much on the butt. We did the steak dinner after and got 2 steaks perfectly cooked by Chancey, 4th generation, that were so big we couldn't eat half of them. It came with salad, baked potato, corn on the cob, a roll and dessert and was served in an authentic Western barn decorated fully with mounts caught by members of the family from first generation all the way to the current one. Oh, and did I mention their cool full bar? During and after dinner the family socialized and treated us like family while taking great care off us. Anyway, if you're looking for a great ride with great people and did this one fits the bill.

Pete, our guide, did a fantastic job of leading us on a 2 hour ride. We climbed 2000 vertical ft to a spectacular view of the Tetons and surrounding ranges. My family of 7 all enjoyed it and felt very safe. The ranch is nothing fancy... just good cowboy folk providing great a great horse riding experience.

This is a must do activity if you have the opportunity to visit Jackson Hole. Our guide Pete was very knowledgeable about the horses and matched each guest to the horse which complimented their personality. Not only is the 2000 foot elevation climb on horseback through the most breathtaking and beautiful countryside in America awe inspiring and incredible, but the T-bone steaks prepared to perfection at the exact time that you return to the lodge are amazing. My wife and I have been to The Drover in Omaha, Peter Luger in New York, The Chophouse in New Orleans, and Cut in Las Vegas. Wolfgang Puck cannot hold a candle to Chancy, the ranch owner, who intricately prepares your meal to coincide with your return. This was one of the best experiences of our lifetime!!
