Miner's Foundry is a very attractive event center in downtown Nevada City. It is an old building, with all the charm and quirkiness implied. (The building originally opened as a working foundry in 1855, and was converted to an event center in 1974.)
Events typically use 1 to 3 of the main rooms, the most unique of which is the remarkable stone room, so called because of the exposed stone walls.
The building is quirky, and can be poorly lit, but has the facilities needed for events. There is even a small art gallery attached, the Osborn Woods Gallery.
Overall, the foundry is a true local landmark, which hosts weddings, craft fairs, concerts, and even community sing alongs, on a regular basis. It is a well-loved community asset.

There is no place in Nevada County like the Miners Foundry! Gorgeous Stone Hall with its chandeliers, century old rafters, roaring fireplace, cookies and libations, and dancers of all ages in the Osborn Woods Hall in lovely costumes performing the story of Clara and The Nutcracker. If you missed it this year, be sure to put it on your calendar for 2018. In the meantime, watch for other events at Miners Foundry, like the Community singing event on January 24th and the Squirrel Nut Zippers on March 7 Become a member of the MIners Foundry, Nevada City, to ensure that this beautiful, one of a kind venue is here for another generation and you stay posted on all the events!!!

This place is crazy and very unique for a city park! I loved the aesthetic of flowing grassy hills juxtaposed with the rotting carcass of an industrial natural gas plant. I finished general chemistry about two years ago and found that the park placed the reaction to form methane on a plaque on the fence! What a great little detail to drive home the history of the plant. Can you find the reaction plaque?

The place was formerly the town foundary, rich in history during gold rush times. The community center holds events. We were at my nephews wedding and please consider it for your venue. It's absolutely gorgeous!
