Happen to meet a Mini City worker, Robert, on his way into work. He informed me that they were anonline service and that they do accept large quantities of non fiction books. He was very courteous and professional and supplied me with their phone number. I will be calling since I have many books.

Mini City Media is a generous company that donates books to my title one elementary school. Thanks to Mini City Media our students get to enjoy reading books in and out of our classrooms. Mini City Media makes a difference!

I had used Mini City Media in the past -- in fact, I wrote the glowing 5 star review from 4 years ago that they feature on their website. I had 17 boxes worth of books, music, DVDs, and LPs that I wanted to sell so I figured I would call them again. In the past, they would scan and inventory the books at your property and give you a check right there on the spot. However, their business practices have changed. Now they come and load up your stuff and make you sign a waiver with absolutely no accounting of what you are giving to them. They tell you that you will get a check within 30 days. NOTHING will be returned to you under any circumstances. Mini City Media will "dispose of" all property as they see fit. They do not allow you to reclaim any items that they deem to be of zero value. So basically, they take your stuff and MCM gives absolutely ZERO accounting for which items they take and will pay for. They can send you a check for 10 bucks for 17 boxes of books and basically tell you "sorry -- what you gave us is zero value" -- all the while, they are selling it and pocketing the money on eBay, Amazon and all their other websites. When I stated that I wanted the items they could not sell back and tried to write that into the agreement, the manager would not agree to it and after the poor guys had boxed and loaded 17 boxes of books, they had to unload it and leave it. I don't fault the guys who were picking up. I fault the management of Mini City Media who wants the best of all worlds -- you give them your stuff and you may or may not get any money for it. And if you don't get any money, you can't even have your stuff back to donate to goodwill for a tax write off. They did say I could take it to Edwin McKay -- who owns Mini City Media so you know that isn't going to go well. Edwin McKay is also a joke in terms of what they will take and what they pay. Save yourself time, aggravation and if you have books etc to dispose of, either sell it yourself or donate it where you can get the tax write off. Mini City Media will just waste your time and steal your stuff.
