I am so glad I chose Mini Movers for my moving needs! Immediately I felt comfortable with the overall energy and their willingness to work with my moving needs. Making an appointment was done without stress and was super easy! I love the availability and flexibility! From the start of my move until the end I was reassured and felt comfortable entrusting Mini Movers with my valuables. I love the fact the staff moving my furniture was communicative with one another and with me in regards to what was best/safe for my belongings! Super friendly and job very well done Mini Movers! I will keep you in mind if I ever need your service again! You exceeded my expectations! Awesome work! ~Debra
I have used Mini Movers 757 in the past and had a great experience with them. This time the experience was horrible on the administrative end. I was originally set up for a Saturday move however, when I got sick, I called on Friday evening to ask if they had availability for Monday the owner Reginald said that the availability was there& I rescheduled for Monday, February 20. My appointment was at 11 a.m. I called to find out an ETA around 10:50 a.m. and the owner called me back 5 minutes later stating that they were in Willoughby I live in Hampton, I was told that they would be in route to me in 45 minutes and would call when they were on the way. I called 7 times with no response & finally some person claiming to be an employee called me with some foolishness claiming that the other job that they had was more than they were told blah blah blah and that they were in VA Beach and I was next on the list. Fast forward 30 minutes later when I mentioned a discount Reginald called me & claimed that I was going to get a discount. It took 3 more hours for me to hear from anyone from this sorry company. Finally some guy named Joshua comes...he asked what I needed done while Reginald sat in the truck. I explained that I needed basically all of my furniture discarded into the dumpster and the other items needed to be moved into my new place which was only 1 courtyard awayin the same complex...Joshua leaves and Reginald calls me 10 minutes later saying that due to me having more items than I stated, he would increase my price to $210it was originally $150. Long story short they ended up leaving to go and get more people ...Around 7:15 p.m. The guys came to move my home...Joshua and Reginald went to the ABC store& the other guys were very nice and moved everything that I asked them to move. Reginald approaches me about the bill & is not budging on the price so I ended up paying the $210 because I needed to be out of my old unit today however, I will be filing reports to the necessary agencies on him. My move took an hour and 15 minutes and I was overcharged. I will NEVER use this company again. Reginald, you should be ashamed of the way that you conduct business& I will spread the word.
I would strongly advise not using mini movers. I had an 8am appointment for a 16 ft truck and two hours of labor. They finally showed up at 4:15pm over 8 hours late. They brought a 12 ft van which was not what I paid for. They spent maybe 15 minutes in my Virginia Beach condo moving stuff out and I had a hard time making sure they grabbed everything. They left my condo at 4:30 and did not get to my house in Ghent till 6:15. It should absolutely not take that long to drive 15 miles on 264. They finally admitted that they went and helped on another job during that time. I was worried they had disappeared with my stuff. One guy threw a chair off of the beach condo balcony. I was planning on throwing the chair away anyways, but I have no idea why he would throw it off the balcony. It made a big mess that I had to clean up. I also was charged an additional $50 at the end of the move I used a living social deal. The fee was for mileage. They might be reasonable but I was told when I set the appointment up that the living social deal would cover everything and I was up front about the miles that would need to be traveled. Mini movers made my move super stressful, inconvenient, and expensive.
This has utterly been the worst experience I have ever encountered. I scheduled an appointment to have one bedroom suite moved from one apartment to another. The job took less than an hour. My appointment was set for 7 a.m. It was not until I called the manager at 7:30 to inquiry about his ETA that he then told me he was in Suffolk and would shortly be in route. The workers did not arrive until 9:30! I had a schedule that I needed to stick to, hence why I scheduled the appointment so early. On top of that the works were rude and looked unprofessional. One guy looked like he rolled out of bed with his basketball shorts and flip flops. I am a single female and just basing off appearances I was uncomfortable. On top of being late and the lack of professional attire they did not wrap my furniture as discussed. They literally threw it on the truck and proceeded to move it to the new location. I would never use this service again and I recommend that NO ONE ever does. Please take heed to all of the negative reviews that have been posted. It is not a coincidence that everyone has had negative experiences. I am all about supporting local business, especially local African American business, but business owners like Mini Movers makes it really hard.
We were scheduled with Apex Direct to move at 2pm on 8/5. I called Reginald Geth at 1:04pm to verify our 2pm start time. I was told by Reginald that they were finishing a move in Chesapeake we live in Virginia Beach and they would be a little bit late. I called again at 3:10pm to see where they were. I was told that they were on their way and requested our address. At 3:46pm I called them again and was told they were putting the address into the GPS and would be there soon. The move crew did not get there until after 5pm 3 hours late. I am 6 months pregnant so I headed to the new house to get it ready for the movers to head over. My husband calls to inform me that the moving truck they brought with them was broken and would not be able to move our things. Reginald brought a van of more people to help move when we needed a new truck, not new people. The original crew warned us that the two guys that were replacing them, one of them was known to steal. They were careless with the offload, and broke a mason jar which we cleaned up, they denied it. They were initially leaving one man in the truck at all times, so I stood outside to watch them offload. They both started to offload after this. My husband finally convinced them to bring a new truck and didn't arrive to the new house to offload until around 7:30pm. The offload was finally completed at 8:17pm, when I called Reginald to arrange payment. Reginald had quoted us at $250 when we originally scheduled our move. He told my husband he would not go below $200, but he talked Reginald down to $175. After the move and how careless they were with the offload, I called and talked him and got him down to $150. When I called Reginald at 8:17pm, he had asked us for $125 in cash. My husband went out to pay them and they drove off stating they never saw him. Reginald then came to our new home the next evening to collect the $125. On 8/12 we were unpacking our bedroom and saw that our tv was broken. He denied that the damage was done by his crew. I recommend any company besides Apex Direct Movers/Mini Movers.
Mini movers 757 is absolutely horrible. They advertise a 200 dollar full move for 2 hours but they poorly pack your things, take constant breaks, "forget" to pack rooms, and the owner Reginald Geth refuses to pay for damages to your things. They are very unprofessional and don't even give you a contract to sign. Other people have had lots of problems with them and they even had some girl come in while they were moving and was scoping out their stuff. I was charged over 700 dollars for a move that should have taken 3 hours at the most. Plus they broke a lot of my things and didn't even do every room. Avoid these people at all costs!
I hired this company on a Groupon and I certainly got what I paid for: I was told the movers would be at my home between 9:00-10:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. No phone call by noon so I called the owner to ask where they were. It was explained they were behind and would be finishing up another job and headed to me soon. My appointment was 9:00 a.m. Seriously? This was a Sunday morning. I'm sure they just forgot my appointment. After two more calls to them, they showed up at 3:00. Had I known that, I would have made other plans in the morning!! Now for the best part..As the moving crew dragged a 200 year old armoire from my storage shed, 8" of the bottom panel broke off. It's solid oak btw!! After loading my items on the truck, they ask if they can stop to have lunch at their favorite eatery close to my home. Fortunately the eatery was closed so we moved on to the storage unit. There they dragged the armoire again to break off the last remaining support on the same side of the armoire. Granted the owner did try to call my cell as I was away from my phone in shock of the result. The men quickly left and When I did call the owner, he was upset with me that I didn't call immediately and have him come out to see the crew and assess the damage. He assured me however that he would meet me in the near future to have the piece repaired. That was a month ago. I have emailed the company, text and left voice mails with no success. This was my first moving experience using professionals and I use that term lightly to do the job. NEVER would I recommend this company to anyone!!!!!
I used Mini Movers 757 to facilitate a move, this company also operates under a name Apex Direct Movers. The move was a complete disaster. It appears to me that the owner of this company is operating under two different names Bob Ozark and Reginal Geth. On Friday, 11/17 I got a call from two numbers and answered the second and it was Bob Ozark. He said he was ready to move me Saturday and that he could do it on Sunday if I was willing to work with him for less. I spoke to Mr. Ozark in my home for about half an hour. I told him about my reservation with moving companies because in the past I had tried this same process and was not satisfied and it ended up terribly. He scheduled the move for Sunday evening but said that there may be space on that day to get me taken care of. As promised at around 4:00 they showed up and were getting ready to facilitate my move. Once the moving truck backed up to my home two men got out and came in and one asked "so what are we doing". I showed him everything and we went upstairs for the few items that were up there and he said "yea, these have some weight to them. He the other man is not going to be able to get this down. You think you will be able to help me get this down?" To which I responded no, and then he said he was going to have to call his brother another worker to help him with the move. Then he said that he was not going to Richmond tonight and wanted to know if they could deliver the load in the morning. I told him no again lets go call Bob and get this situated. I called Bob and he said that there was a different crew to come in to drive the load to Richmond and unload it, he also mentioned that he was coming back with another worker to help with the load since the older gentlemen could not lift much. So after the complaints the two guys their eventually got to work and the third person showed up and they began making progress removing items from my home. During the move the workers broke my 15 gallon fish tank as well as damaged my walls. I led and noticed the truck was not behind me but wanted to get a head start down the road to get my new residence ready. I arrived about 8:15/ 8:30 and got things straight on my end. At about 9:15 I called Mr Ozark to get his ETA to see where he was at. He told me he was in Newport News with my things and said that he was going to deliver them first thing in the morning. This made me extremely upset because he misled me in his original comments to think that this move would have been completed that night. Then he made excuses about his team, I finally had heard enough and told him to just get the truck to me and that I would get people to unload the truck myself which I did. He then told me he would get me my things on the road and that he himself was on the way with my things. I waited a while and then at about 11-11:30 P.M. I began calling agin. After many unanswered calls I then reached out to my local police department because I had feared that they had ran off with my belongings. The truck with my belongings pulled up to my apartment at 1 AM with a different crew than had loaded my truck. I looked for Bob Ozark and he was no where to be found. Since this unload I have been met with unprofessional behavior by Mr Ozark. He called the next day looking for his payment; he demanded I pay using a card and I told him that I would not, but I would put a check in the mail for the services rendered. He has threatened me if I did not pay by saying that his employees would not be happy with me if he had to tell them that I did not want to pay them. I realized that I am indeed missing two boxes of clothing. I have reached out numerous times to ask for these items and have received no response. He will not answer my calls and will answer when I call from a different number. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
The owner sat in the truck the entire time his two helpers moved my stuff. No direction or guidance. Then he wanted to charge more by stating that he didn't anticipate the set up of my storage unit. The items in my storage unit were placed without care or concern. My belongings were placed into the storage unit without any strategy and the space was not efficiently used. I spent an hour rearranging my things into a functional arrangement. I told him to put certain items in the front of the storage, that did not happen. What he fails to realize is that I have used his services on previous occasions and the service was better. He's lost me as a customer.
So dishonest, he even false advertises BBB accreditation on his website, with a D+ rating. I doubt that fake customers and liars just want to ruin Reginald Geth... Loads everything on the truck and then tells you that you owe more money. I hate to give a bad review, but as a business owner having used Groupon services for my business, I am going to be honest. First off, as a consumer I am well aware what the fine print on the deal says, and it would have been well within the guidelines for my husband and I to use two Groupons. 1 My husband and I could have purchased separate Groupons since it said one per person, 2 You have two separate moving companies listed on Groupon 3 it does not indicate anywhere that it is one per house 4 We were charged for a separate move and given a separate receipt. Instead of arguing with the man, I simply paid, because there are better ways to deal with this sort of thing. First I was sent a blank quote, this was after I was quoted $400 for 5 hours to be split into two days, then charged $420. I told him how big the unit was, he claims I did not, even though I talked to Reginald via both companies mini movers and apex. I have record of both numbers via text. Me asking him for quotes, him saying he would send it, only to never do so. Then when I finally talked to him at apex, mind you I never given him my email on that call, the blank quote appeared with the apex heading, this is how I found out it was the same man. I still remained pleasant. The first day, every thing goes fine. We paid, the $420. Next day, he come back with more people and after he gets everything on the truck he tells us we owe him an additional $320. Why wouldnt you tell us this before you come, start and let us make the decision whether we want to pay you any more money? Or before you left? There are ways to do business and then there are ways to not do business, that is not how you do business. I feel sorry for anyone else he has done this to. I am definitely going to be making some calls, because that is not good. The response from the owner is incorrect. We did not have a full load on the first day, we had a couch, washer, dryer, fridge and very few boxes. As I informed you, everything you say is being noted as our community is under surveillance, so thank you for once again not telling the truth. If you dont believe me, please feel free to pay our community a visit, the signs are posted every where. I will gladly be taking notes of these lies, along with the other lies you sent me via text. Why wouldn't you discuss the "price upgrade" one you supposedly learned on the move day that we wanted to split the move. Gee, you didn't because you already knew. Why would you bring 3 additional people, when we didnt agree to that? If what you're saying is true, wouldnt that require a new agreement be made, prior to your arrival? Not some mystery number pulled out the air based on what? You didnt discount us, you charged us $740 for less than 4 hours of work. How is that a discount? So you're saying that the regular amount is $1140 for 4 hours? That doesnt even line up with the information you gave me regarding your hourly rate of $92. I may not get a refund or have any resolution. But there is a reason why you have to resort to these types of shady practices and it is because you're not actually successful in your business. What kind of business sends a blank invoice on purpose? What kind of business is run by the same man under two names in the same area offering the same services. That isnt branching out. How many times have you rebranded? In the end I can find comfort in knowing that you HAVE and NEED to resort to this for my little $320 in order to stay afloat. This is all you will ever be, because at your age sir, this is all you are. And if you've been in business for "50 years" as you boast. Yet you haven't set the moving industry on fire... you're not doing something right. I find great comfort in that.
