Wasn't prepared for the increased Christmas traffic they received. As a result, they put people's lives at risk. I took my family to Miniature World Family Fun Center yesterday (12/23/2017), after it was recommended to me by the Lake Whatcom Railway website. My family and I arrived at Miniature World shortly after 5 PM and had to park on the shoulder of the highway as did many other patrons. Everyone who had to park on the shoulder was forced to walk on the highway as cars zipped by at the posted speed limit of 50 miles per hour. We had to duck in between cars three times on our way to the Miniature World property. Miniature World is beyond lucky that there were no accidents last night. Their parking lot fell well short of accommodating the holiday crowd. I will never go here again. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This is a review for the Santa Trains at Miniature World. My kids loved the train with lights part, but waiting in line was so bad I'll never return and would recommend everyone stay away until they change it. It's possibly more miserable than going to the airport with toddlers. I bought tickets online, but then we waited two hours in a crowded trailer, then outside in the cold. They tried to make it tolerable with a video of Polar Express showing inside, but the kids were still screaming and running away, all while parents were trying to keep their spot in line. The last 30 minutes of waiting was even worse--outside the trailer in the cold with a small rope keeping your small child away from dangerous cords that were powering the lights. They could have avoided this with a reservation system--buy a ticket for a train between 5-5:30 pm then get an actual reservation once you arrive. Instead of waiting in a long stressful line full of screaming kids, parents could have sat and watched their kids play while waiting for their train to arrive. A $300 investment in a safe place for little kids to play and some wooden train track or duplo train blocks would have been way better than hanging cords and a whole bunch of picnic tables than my toddler crawled under and I had to dig him out. Considering it was over $50 for a family of four to go on the ride, making it not miserable for parents and small children is a very small ask.

Very fun, clean, friendly service, amazing lights, thoughtful, fun light scenes to see. Train was a joy, about a 20min ride and comfortable, very real Santa and Mama Santa at the end to greet you and photos with Santa. Will come again. Be prepared for long lines and limited parking, overflow on Birch Bay road, dress warm, wear a rain coat if raining. Merry Christmas!!

Honestly I expected the Santa Train to be pretty cheesey but I was really impressed with how much must have gone into creating this experience. Fun for kids of all ages, even my 18 month old loved it.
