I understand the students are learning but he left my toenails very sharp at the corners and did not file them as short as I asked… very streaky polishing job as well. He took a very long time and did far less of a good job than I could have done myself! He should have had a supervisor watching or checking in.
I guess you get what you pay for! I like the idea of them giving academy students real experiences at an affordable consumer price, but my pedicure today was honestly pretty poor quality. I wish someone was supervising the technician, he clearly needed support and would look around as if wanting to ask questions or seek help but no one was around. The polish is very streaky and messy. Happy it’s my toes and not my finger nails. And, despite asking to cutting my nails shorter he did not make much improvement. And said he couldn’t make the water warmer even though it was cold. Not sure I’ll come back.
I’ve been going to this location since they first opened. The staff is always very friendly and makes the experience so enjoyable each time I go. I loved having the ML membership when that was first offered - unlimited manicures with such great people Simone, Nancy, Amy, Naomi in a beautiful salon was something I looked forward to each week! I appreciate all that the staff has taught me about nail health and proper care. Over the years, I’ve brought my out-of-town family and friends with me, who now request we go to ML Coolidge Corner each time they visit. Since moving out of this area 4 years ago, I’ve returned frequently, and will be going more often now that this location has transitioned to the academy, lead by the wonderful Kareena! Marissa and Mary are so talented, I was pleasantly surprised at how great these “students” were. Kareena is lovely, a well-rounded leader at this salon, and even while we’re chatting, she always has a pulse on what’s going on around her. She’s consistently offering tips, constructive criticism, and positive feedback to the techs in training to ensure they’re improving each time they’re with a client. I hope clients who go here understand that this is a learning environment, and appreciate what they are offering for such a great price. I have been to ML salons all over Boston/Greater Boston almost all of them at this point, as well as RI and CA, and although all are beautiful and most do a great job, Coolidge Corner has been the most consistent with a 10/10 experience each time and feels like “home” when I visit. This is from Rebecca Foster. I had a pedicure and manicure on August 9, 2022. My technician was Vinh. He did an excellent job and was very polite. The manager, Kareena Khan, is excellent! She is very personable and was very helpful. She gave some very good suggestions to the technician while he was polishing my nails. The salon was attractive and clean. There was a lot of emphasis on cleanliness throughout the service. The Miniluxe Academy is run very well and I will return.
I got a performance manicure 2 days ago. The lacquer is starting to chip already even though the performance lacquers are supposed to last longer. I feel that the students do a good job with cuticles and filing nails, but the applying of lacquer is always a problem. At least that has been my experience. Maybe spend more time during training on this?
This MiniLuxe Academy was fantastic. Not only did my nail stylist do an amazing job on my manicure and pedicure, but the customer experience was fantastic. Karina, the manager of the studio, was very accommodating and made sure to find an appointment time that worked best with my busy work schedule. I much appreciated that and would recommend everyone to get their nails done at this location!
I hate leaving bad reviews but felt it was necessary as they cancelled my appointment two times. The first time I understood and rescheduled, the second time they cancelled my appointment FIFTEEN minutes before it began and I was already on my way. Very unprofessional, completely turned me off from ever wanting to give them my business or recommend them to family/friends. Disappointed as I was excited to try a new salon.
Honestly, it's the worst pedicure I've ever had, this boy master was doing it. I don't know how could it be. But it wasn't good shaped, not good massage and not even colored well, he was blowing at my nails with his bacteria. My nails was sharped and cling to my socks after... And I denied to do manicure with him... And no possiblity to change master. So I left my contacts. But I've never left bad reviews before. But I decided to attach the photo of all of it FYI. Even my boyfriend noticed THIS. But people around me were really grateful. Maybe I had bad luck with him. But I was disappointed with especially this guy.
Great staff and students, high quality and attention to detail, would definitely recommend!! The manager Karina is incredible and runs a great program!
Truly enjoyed my time at the MiniLuxe Academy. The staff was super nice and accommodating. You can tell they are eager to learn and give you the best experience possible. Thank you to the staff and their trainer Kareena who oversaw their work every step of the way.
