There are a lot to choose from the menu and being that we love Japanese food we wanted to try as much as we can from the variety that they had. I got tuna and salmon sashimi, salmon roll and veggie tempura. The sashimi was good. I could taste the buttery flavor of the salmon and the firmness of the tuna. The slices were thicker than usual which I liked. The salmon roll was good, not too much rice. I loved the veggie tempura. The crunchy batter was just right and not oily at all. My son got the miso tonkatsu ramen. The serving is big and may be enough to be shared by 2 people. The noodles was firm and the soup was tasty and not salty at all. We also got the Volcano and Cardinal rolls. These were plated differently than I am used to and that is good and creative in my opinion. The servings were big portions . The toppings were tasty. Only thing is that you should finish it right away as the topping may get the sushi a little soggy if you let it sit for awhile which did not happen to us since we finished it a few minutes after it was served The price of the food is also very reasonable. The place is clean, not too big yet very cozy and the staff are very nice. We came on a weekday a little after the lunch hour rush so we got seated as soon as we got there but I heard that the place can get very busy at times. I highly recommend this place and would love to come back when we are in the area again.
I had just finished a rather strenuous workout; famished and craving sushi. I didn't need the 'fun house' down the road, I just wanted good food. I was greeted with a smile and seated immediately. I chose the chicken & shrimp hibachi, Miso and the 20 piece sashimi. The Miso was hearty and flavorful. The salad was standard, but still enjoyable. The chicken was tender. The shrimp and vegetables were accompanied in a savory sauce. The sashimi was fresh and very pleasant. I was able to enjoy the pieces with no soy sauce to taste the subtle differences. I polished off my rice and decided on 2 different Nigiri: tuna and sweet shrimp. Amazing. The rice was balanced spot on between acidity and sweet. Overall I was very pleased with my meal. The flavor and presentation of the dishes were great. Will return.
Best ramen in town and the service was spot on. The owner even came by to ask how we liked it. He told us his story of how he came to make this specific flavor. It was just a really great meal all around and the price was very reasonable.
After being here a few different times, I can happily say that this is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is nothing short of on point every single time. The wait staff are just all amazing, patient and helpful. I have had a few different rolls. My personal favorite is the hokage. The pork belly in the Ramen is just insane. I can also recommend the chicken yakisoba, and spicy edamame. Delicious and fresh!!
Visited yesterday for the first time although we pass by frequently. Now we have found our favorite hibachi! Prices were good, but the food... was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!
My experience at Misawa was really great! I enjoyed the volcano sushi and the delicious and scrumptious tonkatsu ramen soup. It was highly recommended for this cold day in November. The staff are really personable and sociable. They are attentive to the needs and concerns of the customers as observed from afar with other customers. Highly recommended a place to eat in Louisville! I hope that my great experience at this place would help you come and eat at this restaurant as well! Kid-friendliness: They have food items for adults and for children to enjoy! Parking: There is ample parking at the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: People with disabilities can access this place very well.
The food quality was very good, but the relative lack of vegan options was a bit disappointing. I was still able to have a nice dinner, and my non-vegan friend ate very well off of the sushi and entre menu, but some dishes incorporating tofu as the protein would have been nice. I had to order a bit of a custom dish. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian and vegan option were lacking, but the building blocks are there so don't worry too much if your carnivore friends want to bring you here.
Very good sushi and Habatchi Chicken! Waiter could not have been nicer and prompt. Decor was modern and done well. There were areas of the place that seemed dirty. Baseboards in the restroom, floors, and near the front door. Still, we’d go back. If it were my place I’d address cleaning but better.
Great food! did not like the ginger dressing it had a smokey flavor to it. The yummy sauce tasted like garlic. never tasted yummy sauce and ginger dressing that tasted that horrible. The filet was the best I have ever had.
Misawa is fast becoming my favorite sushi place. Its hidden in a small strip mall by Kohl's department store off Bardstown road. Good prices and great sushi! They have the first ever female sushi chefs I've seen in Louisville. The wings are absolutely awesome and starters have some pretty good options as well. Haven't had a bad meal here.
