Five years after surviving the natural disaster that swept the entire country-Hurricane Katrina, proud survivor Ms. Dionne Gant, otherwise known as Ms. D, has established herself in Atlanta as an old-fashioned candy maker and business owner.
You can find her original shop right downtown at the Sweet Auburn Market.
Miss D came to Atlanta to find a new home, bringing her recipe for authentic New Orleans Pralines with her. Using Georgia pecans, she mixes and pours each batch by hand in her space right inside the market's entrance, and also fashions other sweet treats that will keep you stopping by for more.
