Two friends of mine, and i enjoyed our lunch experience here, however as noted by some other reviews we were not asked for a vaccination card still, it wasn't over-packed around noon, which was good and I would say this location wanted for a little extra cleanliness. For example, they'd run out of soap, when my friend used their restroom. However, when mentioned to the staff it was corrected right away. And a manager, Julie was serving us and helped explain the menu, since it was our first time there my first Korean BBQ experience. She was helpful and attentive, and even entertained our request for a photo. Another wait staff Jessica, I believe it was on her name tag ignored us a few times--maybe she was busy. On another note, as some reviews mentioned, it was quite Pricey. The quality and flavor of the meat was excellent, however, we ordered 2 serving, along with "add on" veggies & tofu, and the total was $120 for three people before tip. So, I think, over all it was a fun, novelty experience--but may try other locations in the future.
I went to this place for dinner. Order several dishes alone with the appetizer. The food taste is okay. I would say average and I see lot of room for improvements in terms of tastes. The service is pretty good. The resturent located in Korea town in the New York City so finding street parking can be challenging. Overall, good experience but need to focus on the food tastes and work on it.
Good experience overall and a classic spot. Stick to the classic meats for grilling and don't waste your money on the seafood. Tuna tasted frozen and fishy and was overcooked, lobster was tough and scallops were like bullets and definitely not fresh. Spicy pork belly is tasty, but not so spicy, more on the sweet side. They should consider offering more bonchon to make the experience better.
Chose this place randomly because I was in the neighborhood and wanted a place I could eat at that wasn’t to packed. The weather was decent for September so I opted to eating outside. The service was not the best as I had to literally beg for the check and a to go box when I was done eating. The food was decent and made quickly upon ordering. Overall, if you’re looking for average food in the area and poor service, this is the place to be.
Korean BBQ restaurant. Interesting service style where different raw meats are brought to the table and served on gas grills to your liking. With appetizers and sides like rice, noodles, Kimchi and savory pancakes. Service is attentive making sure meats were flipped timely and nothing was consumed too raw or burnt. Food was flavorful without being overpowering.
Service was extremely poor. We ended up cooking our own meats or else they would have burned. Drinks took forever to arrive and they were all non-alcoholic. I ordered spicy food it was mild. I asked for brown rice still received white rice ok fine no big deal. But the wait for the check was the icing on the cake for me. It took so long to arrive and the server was nowhere to be found. Will not recommend on a Saturday night if your extremely hungry. Food was fair, just poor service.
The food was just okay. I think all the dishes could have been more flavorful. The side dishes were also mediocre compared to other restaurants in the area. The service was great though! I liked the crispiness of the seafood pancake, but felt like something was lacking. The galbi tasted as if they barely put any marination on it.
The cold ramen was quite good on a hot day. The Chef Special Spicy stir fry ramen was also very delicious. The sides are very diverse in flavors which is good. My nit picky complaints are that the food seems a bit pricey and the service, although was not bad, could be better. I had to ask for water and sides refill multiple times before getting it. They do open late, so the pricing makes sense if their employees are compensated fairly.
We arrived at this location and was not asked about our vaccination cards. The menu only offers 3 dinning packages which we felt was super odd. All the packages are more than $100 which offers a limited selection of products to consume. The wait staff actually cooks the meat to their liking without inquiring how the consumer would like it cooked. This was a major reason the establishment received a low rating. The waiter did a terrible job informing us of menu items they would replenish such as rice, bean sprouts etc. Some of the meat was left to burn while the onion was served nearly raw. After our meal we felt bloated and unhappy with our overall experience. The decor is bland and unexciting and the wait staff nonchalantly cooks, prepares and discards your plates. Highly recommend eating elsewhere for Korean BBQ. Also pretty pricey for the little amount of food presented.
[3.5/5 New York, NY] Needed a place to eat - found this place on Seated with 20% rewards. We didn’t have to wait for a table. The brisket and spicy pork belly were average - nothing special. Egg and Japchae met expectations. The banchan wasn’t very good. Kimchi was not nice and the selection was very small. Their sesame oil with salt sauce was good though. The service staff also replaced our vegetables very promptly and cooked our meats well. Would come back if on Seated but won’t make a special trip. P.S. we bumped it down to 3.5 because we went to check out Jongro’s prices and wow - it’s the same price. Jongro is clearly superior.
