Great amenities. Beautiful apartments. Absolutely stunning views of the New York City skyline. One drawback is just how much sun the apartment gets. It heats up the apartment a lot. Cats love to sunbathe in window but we need to have the shades down if we want to watch TV and not go blind.
I stayed here for 2 month, had mixed experience. Cant say bad or good. Things I liked here - 1 Excellent location - 2 min walk from new port Path station, 5min walk from Exchange Place path station, 200-300 meters from Hudson river front/broadwalk from where you can enjoy evening coffee, admiring beautiful view of nyc skyline. Specially at night its just amazing, when nyc skyline shines bright with lights. Behind this towers, we have BJ's wholesale mart, shoprite so your grocery need will be fulfilled without even taking your car or calling cab. Just 200 meters away. Also there is light rail station right behind this building. 2 min walk from new port path station and new port central mall, macy's, kohls, cheese factory etc. 2 Good spacious apartments, well maintained, clean and fully furnished 1BHK with queen beds, 42' LCD, spacious kitchen, washing machine/dryer and every possible amenities you need. The kitchen offers a microwave, oven, stove and large fridge which is more than enough. 3 Amazing view if you get room in north tower which faces NYC skyline. Also even if you get south facing and high floor appt you will get to see jersey city view. What I DIDNT like 1 Never book through Global Luxury Suites - I booked for 3 days through them and it was really bad experience. Room furniture wasnt great condition. Check in time is 4 PM which is extremely inconvenient if your flight is arriving in morning. There were no contact of of this so called Global Luxury suites. Thankfully Monaco office staff helped to call them. I had one of my friend staying in same tower so I did timepass till 4PM to get my room. 2 Rest 2 month I stayed here with booking from BridgeStreet which went good till they goof-up with my amazon order. I returned item which never received by Amazon. thanks for amazon for returning my money. But this was way idiotic from Monaco front desk than anything else. Stayed October 2016
This building has like 48+ floor but the elevator always breaks. people call fire department to rescue people locked in elevator almost every week. I was forced to climb 30+ floor of stairs many times since I moved here. Recently there was also a large electrical box explosion at 2am smoke fire everywhere followed by a building wide electricity outage. Some people had to rent hotel rooms that night but no one got any reimbursement . Edit: I should have read the google comment on this place. I just saw some comments from 3 years ago complaining the same elevator issue and it has never been resolved
If you are looking for just a house/ apartment, then this is not the place. But, if you want a home with space and amenities for everyone in your family, then I am more than happy to recommend this place. They have a very good leasing team who would always help you. The concierge team Jose Delgado who would always put a smile on your face while entering/leaving the lobby. And of course, the Management team Michael Pleose; aka Captain of the tri-BLVD residences who steers with an intent of making every resident's stay happy and comfortable.
For everyone who saw this, I beg you please DONOT APPLY FOR THIS BUILDING, because you will be very regretful. Been living here for almost 2.5 years and I’ve seen management of Blvd buildings became worse and then the worst in Newport areas. There is always at least one elevator out of service almost every day, sometimes the management office just sent residents an email for apology sometimes even not. JC firemen are regulars to the building, at first we thought it’s always false alarm and then the last week boom the electrical room exploded at 3am and some peopleeven residents in VYVgot awake, but people like us who live on floors without fire alarm working even didn’t got any notified. I am totally shocked and out of mind by this worst ever management. There’s a lot other horrible things about the management I want to share but there’s not enough space..
Update 02/16/2022, Monaco change its name to Veris BTW. Have to change from 3 stars to 2 stars due to many life concerns recently: 1 Electrical fire with explosions. Happens at 2am and explosion sounds last for around 20 minutes. Management office failed to explain more details and everyone lives here feels concerned. 2 People get locked in elevators, and still the issue with elevator happens almost everyday. Management office send email every other day to shutdown elevator and still no way to totally fix it. 3 Security is not good around this area anymore. Pros: 1 The square feet. As I live in 2b2b with my roommate, Monaco has the largest 2b2b as far as I know compared with all other apartments around this area. Most other apartments will fit a queen size bed only. 2 The city skyline view. Again, the view depends on which side you live. For my side it faces NYC. Most friends who come to visit me notice the view first and really like it. For those of you who work from home, you will love this view. However it is super hot in summer, you wont be able to work from living room without AC + big fan 3 Location. 5 minutes walk to Newport PATH station. 3 minutes walk to Shoprite market. 3 minutes walk to Newport mall and NJ light rail. 4 Amenity. Pool with gym. Kind of ok. 5 In unit laundry. For the most time if you have any issue with any appliance, they will get it fixed within 1 day. Cons: 1 Elevator issue. Monaco has 50 floors, with 3 elevators for south building and 3 for north south and north only connected through 11 and 12th floor. For the south building, 2 small elevators fit 5-6 people, the bigger one fits 6-8 people. One of the small elevators sometimes breaks every week or every other week. It has been a consistent issue for 2-3 years, and you can find google reviews about this. There have been a few times I wait for 20 minutes during peak time. 5 minutes wait are frequent. Also, Monaco does not allow new residents to move in over the weekend. So Friday afternoon you get back from work and realize the biggest elevator is reserved for new residents to move, one of the smaller elevators is broken, and there are 10 people in line before you for the only elevator left. Only thing I can suggest is make sure you have good mental health, and reserve time for elevators when planning. Honestly the elevators are fine recently when I am writing this review, but you never know… I don’t have confident on this anymore. Good excuse: this is an old building, and they have already tried their best to fix it. 2 Packages. Before COVID, there are delivery lockers for packages which I really like as it is easy and convenient. Since COVID not only the doorman was removed, those lockers also get removed. For all the packages for all residents, they rely on the concierge to organize, which has 1-2 people only, and they need to deal with other things for the residents. So, you might need to wait extra hours before you can pick up your packages. Amazon might deliver your package today, but occasionally you might have to wait for tomorrow to pick it up as the concierge doesn't have time to organize, and you can NOT look for your package by yourself. What’s even worse is, in rare cases, staff working at daytime might put your mail/package in one place, and staff working at night can’t find them. Nobody can find your mail or packages and you can't search by yourself. Good excuse: due to COVID they try to protect everyone 3 Noise. Monaco does not have requirements about quiet hours. From time to time some parties last until 1-2 am, although mostly over the weekend. No guarantee for your sleep. The other big problem is the bedroom for 2b is right next to the living room for 1b. If your neighbor likes music loudly in the living room, nothing can save you. You can also hear the microwave sound and dishes from the next living room in the quiet morning, maybe a good way to wake you up. Hopefully one day they can have a clear rule about quiet hours and ask residents to follow them.
If you are African American, please do not book a room at this establishment. The residents have had some issues with strangers walking into this establishment and since then the residents have assumed that all black patrons and black AirBnB patrons are criminals. We were made to feel very unwelcome. Although we were paid guests our Identifications was checked b/c two of our children were asked to stop jumping in the pool. Each child jumped once in the arms of their father. The white patrons that jumped in the pool before and after the black children were chastised were never warned. The residents pointed at myself and the children and threatened to have us removed from the pool. Neither child could swim and was afraid to jump in their father's arms and jumped in the pool timidly. The white patrons and children ran across the pool area and jumped in without being threatened to leave. One white jumper hurt himself doing so and was not warned. He needed a bandaid due to an abrasion on his nose. We were threatened, he was not. The lifeguard was a teenager that fell asleep on duty and allowed racist residents to treat us poorly. Security then checked our identification because the residents complained "someone had snuck in or didn't belong" After the pool incident the residents followed this family to and from the media room and called security on black children again. The staff did nothing. Do not book here if you are African American. You are not welcome here and you will be considered a criminal upon sight and management/security does nothing about it. Beware of the feuds between residents and AirBnB patrons. Please record any instances of racism if you stay here in hopes of exposing them. We regret not doing so. Look at the picture below, the resident is suspicious of us even in this photo. We were incredibly uncomfortable. The man in this photo is the husband of the woman who reported us to security. Several white guests apologized on behalf of the Monaco when they observed the blatant racism. The Moncao has yet to do so. African Americans are not welcome here.
Worst building I have ever stayed in. Elevators are often broken. Can you image it is a norm case to spend 10-20 minutes going down to the lobby or up to your apartment? The fire alarming is false alarming quite often. Fitness center and lounge is very old as well
Probably the worst building in Jersey city. The management is just terrible and try to exploit you. I had my worst time, living in this building. Management is not at all supportive and when I left the apartment they put a $4000 fine on me for no reason. I’m still fighting with them to get my security deposit but they won’t give it. DO NOT CONSIDER LIVING in this building.
Living here for 2 years. Generally satisfied. View is great, maintenance typically within 2-3 days, never lost any package, used to have doormen and they were very nice, public area is always clean, there were 2 or 3 times I have to wait 15 minutes for elevator but I think that's reasonable for a 50 floors building, close to BJS, BBB, shoprite, newport mall and PATH very convenient, light rail track next to the building but it's very quiet and I never heard it, nice pool and gym, I can hear neighbors if they are loud, but it doesn't really bother me, most of time people are quiet, and it is actually much better than my previous apartment.
