Monk’s was great with freshening up and painting the frames of our exterior windows. They were eyesores and now look really nice. Victor and his crew of painters did a terrific job, taking care of scraping away the old paint and putting two fresh coats on the frames. Also, shoutout to Mike Mina, who did a very thorough job from doing the estimate and checking in throughout the process, and also constantly being available for questions. We appreciated his friendly and professional approach. It was a stress-free project and we’re happy with the job. Thanks, Monk’s!
Monks did a great job in repairing a small but important soffit opening near my roof which became a spot for birds and squirrels. Mike coordinated the crew and was very responsive to my questions. They finished same day and the job was reasonably priced. Photos show repair work and completed job.
I hired Monks to replace all my interior doors including a new front door and storm door . Mark in the home office and Jared who did my estimates were easy to work with. The actual employees who did the installation and painting were outstanding. We had a few delays due to mistakes which were acknowledged and corrected with no issue. We had Monk's install a closet and partition wall in our brand new house. We assumed that local and more expensive would mean more quality work. We were sorely mistaken. 1 The partition wall 15' length was built at an angle. When we asked them to build the wall to be straight, the crew tried to move just the top and bottom of the wall so that the wall was curved in a 'C' shape. When we finally pointed out the the whole wall was curved, they broke it down and rebuilt it to be straight. 2 6 months after the job, we noticed the poor quality of the crown molding that is misaligned, mismatched, and peeling see photos. This is in stark contrast to the molding in the rest of the house which was beautiful. 3 The workers would routinely leave used razors lying around the garage and driveway, which is concerning for us as parents of small children. Perhaps our project ~$22k was too small for their full attention. Would not recommend.
This is the second time I have invited Monks and Ward to quote a project in my house. Previously Monks painted and installed flooring in my house which turned out fantastic. This time we wanted to convert our covered porch into a mudroom. After receiving his quote which was very reasonable we met Vince as Project Manager and his foreman, Alonzo. Vince coordinated the project including inspections. Alonzo and his crew built the room. Start to finish it was a great experience. I would recommend Monks and will recommend Monks to my family and friends for all of their renovation.needs.
We engaged Monks Home Improvement to refinish the kitchen cabinets. We are very happy with the quality of service and work. Brian was especially helpful in setting up the work schedule and follow up. He paid attention to all our requests and was able to get us through the project Greivin and his crew handled the actual work and provided superior quality of work. Our cabinets are like new. Additional work review: June 2023 we started a remodel of 2 bathrooms as well as the huge job of finishing a completely unfinished basement. The job ran on time from start to finish even with some additional work thrown on. This job included removing a wall from one bathroom and extending the shower in another, which Joey and the crew found to be a possibility when they removed the old drywall. Joey, David and Cristina were incredible. We ran into a few plumbing issues with the main bathroom but before even calling me Joey had alternatives which was very helpful considering I know nothing about design. The craftsmanship of the tile work came out better than I could have hoped. Where the design ends on a wall it was matched on the next wall. My basement was completely unfinished. Concrete everything. It is now a space we can entertain and the kids can play. Joey dealt with all of the technician plumbing, electric and facilitated all of the permits. I would and have recommended Monks to many people. They stick to their timelines and exceed expectations. I appreciated that Joey kept me informed if the crew would not be there for a day or two while we waited for materials or permits and I always knew when to expect someone. Joey checked in with me regularly to make sure I was ok with the completed work and to keep me updated on where we were in the project. We remodeled out kitchen, laundry room, powder room and entry way last summer. Maria Hernandez was responsive, accurate and quick with the labor estimate. Project Manager Joey Valerio ran the project and was on site at least once a day to check on the progress, answer all my questions, and keep me updated as the project progressed. We completely gutted most of the downstairs. The crew was on time every day and worked throughout the day asking questions when they needed and explaining anything that came up. Joey kept me updated with every step and helped me make decisions on pieces of the project. Working with Joey and the crew at Monks was easy and seamless. They took care of all the permits and the outside electrical contractors so I didn't have to. Even when I made a last minute addition to paint a hallway, Joey got an estimate together with a few hours and we had a plan. They were always quick to respond if I had a question. What I liked most is that they waited for all of my materials to be in before beginning the job. The kitchen looks beautiful and it took half the time. Work started in early June and they were finished before July 4th. I highly recommend. We are beginning a second project with Monks and I'm very happy Joey Valerio will be running it again.
Highly highly recommend Monks for any house projects! We recently remodeled our kitchen and are extremely satisfied with the outcome and the process the entire way. From the initial consultation with Maria, to the showroom visit/materials purchase with Casey, all the way through to the actual work in the house with Joey and Dave. The team worked around the clock 8-6 & on weekends to get our kitchen done and looking pristine. The attention to detail, expertise, and professionalism were greatly appreciated! Monks is truly a great company for house projects as they handle everything from beginning to completion measuring, materials, labor, permits, etc. we loved our experience with Monks and have already reached back out for our next project! We used Monk’s for painting and some deck repair, and had a terrific experience. They were very fast, nice, and the work looks amazing. Definitely using them for any future needs as well!
Monk's was fantastic. Mike Mina came out to discuss and review our request. Took measurements on the spot and provided a quote to us within minutes of leaving the house. Carpentry and painting came out fantastic. Team did an amazing job fixes blemishes on the walls and kept the rooms very clean during the project.
