We took a chance and went there without calling first. When we got there, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who opened the shop for us. This is a shop for those who enjoy rocks. This is more than a shop which also sells rocks but a shop where the owners are serious about rocks. Yes, you should call before going and there is good reason why it is not always open. If you are into rocks and get a chance to browse the store I think you'll be pleased.
