For my first time in this lunch buffet, it was very nice! The quality of food was adequate. The salads and fixin's was my favorite area! Fresh veggies and loved that I could add quinoa, too. There was a pasta line so I checked out the other four or five stations. The smallest was the Halal, largest may be the Global Kitchen. After a satisfying salad, I found seared tofu and added a simple tuna and cheese half sandwich. There was a panini press, but that would be for another sandwich. Much of it is self-serve, which is fine with me. It's also self-bus and that makes it easier to find seating. The surroundings are cool and everywhere it seemed to be pretty clean. I really enjoyed our visit here!
Nice location to live on campus, more reasonably priced than other housing options. Also there's a dining hall on the first floor. One down side is it does only have community showers.
I have been there twice which was on Friday. It's affordable and have multiple options. They have two halal counters and can also try the veg options. For students it's a best place
Cheap and affordable housing option within campus ! With a lot of student activities within the dorms.
I went to moody towers to get food to eat while I was on break . It was my very first time , and I will never return or eat there again . The food is terrible , and it was cold and not fresh . One of the employees were rude , considering that it was my first time ever eating at this place. Never again , not worth it . 0/10 do not recommend
I don't know how moody towers has a 4 star rating right now. It is terrible. Leaks in the laundry room, moldy showers, and shower heads you have to squat under a bit, shower flooring in falling apart scary looking. There is no running drinking water through the building, the basement was flooded when I went down there, I don't know what UH considers a kitchen but there is not really one. The laundry machines are super old and break down alot oh and on the 18th floor, but elevators only go to the 17th. At least in my room the closets are broken. Yes it is cheep housing, but this is on another level of terrible, serious maintenance and upkeep is needed asap. Update, just cleaned light switches and got the black stuff off around the switch, also the mold growing on the air vent
This is my first day here North Tower, I've moved everything in which was made easy by these large blue bins they provide that make transporting your items to your room so much faster. The floors seem to be separated by gender so because I'm a female I'm on an all female floor and my RA Morgan is super sweet. I'm right next to the bathroom, the lounge and the elevators which makes it efficient for in and out kinda things. The only negative is that the elevator only goes to the 17th floor and the laundry room is on the 18th floor so you have to go up some stairs. The minus 1 star is mainly for that and the fact that the higher up in the tower you go the creepier the elevator sounds. I'd probably opt for the stairs most days. The people are nice, the goal is to befriend 10 people by the end of the week or try my best to do so.
As a UH student you won’t get discount much but on fridays if you wore some red T-shirt there is a discount and there are live counters for food where everyone can enjoy
This student living needs to be honest in what they are selling. This year they decided to charge the pricing of a super single to a single. I registered early last year hoping I would get the super single with two beds, I ended up with a single with a full size bed and small room, but was paying the same price of those with two beds and a bigger room. That's a pretty shady move, but I am not surprised based on how the University cares more about a students checkbook instead of their well-being. Student staff and security are great. But the lack of care especially with the rat and cockroach problem last semester made my last year experience unpleasant.
I don't know about other aspects but the buffet offered on Friday?- pretty cool in just $5. Most of the students and staffs have their buffet lunch on Fridays here. All you need is just to wear a red dress. Remember, it's also a tradition for UH students to wear red on Fridays.
