In an age of mindless digital consumption, Mort’s is a treasure—an invaluable refuge for those of us who cannot live without analog. After a quick trip to Mort’s, my receiver looks and sounds brand, spanking new. Simply put, if you need to service vintage audio equipment, go to Mort’s. Further, if you just appreciate vintage audio equipment, go there for a visit. It’s a museum of awesomeness, that of course, you can also shop at. Mort’s—thank you for restoring order to my home, and to my ears!
Hello, I saw a vintage Marantz 2330b advertisement online from Mort’s TV. I called and spoke to Mike . He informed me the unit was thoroughly cleaned and serviced and was in excellent condition. I took the 1 and 1/2 hour ride to his store and I was not disappointed. I purchased the unit and cannot be happier. Anyone looking for vintage stereo equipment of any type should definitely call and speak to Mike . One of the most knowledgeable persons In their field that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you.
for the 1st time in 42yrs. i had to repair my thorens turntable. when i walked into morts vintage repair shop i was brought back to 1970. i didn't realize the quality of sound that the table had lost until i re installed it into my system. what a great job by all the staff. a special thanks to the woman at the front desk. i consider myself an audiophile and really nice to see that i am not the only one, i was like a kid in a candyshop when i walked in to their store. THANKS, JOHN L.
They've been around as long as I can remember. They're always fair on prices, and will let you know if it's worth fixing or not. If you choose to fix your item, the deposit is applied to the balance. I can't wait to surprise my daughter with the TV I'm having fixed for her!
I have had two vintage audio units repaired and reconditioned at Mort's and I would recommend them to anyone that has older gear that needs a bit of love. Most recently I had my Marantz 6300 Phono in for some TLC and the owners took great care of it. Repairs were timely around 5 weeks, given the backlog they have and the rarity of these kinds of services, this was great and well within what I wanted to spend.
Won't take on a job if it's too 'time consuming' Edit: fixed myself by replacing a variable resistor. Which I told him was probably the problem on the phone. Just adding this edit so he knows he missed out on some easy money. Dude was literally rushing me off the phone barely wanting to hear my problem when I called. Shows how much he knows. Definitely doesn't know his stuff.
One of the old-school repair shops, hard to find in this smart era where everything fits in the palm of your hand. Go back into our times, no sound bars but real wood and metal.
Threw people of Audio nolage needed to get my vintage stereo help. Directed me to Mort's TV &Video Inc. Repair. They serviced my kyocera, CD player also Kyocera cassette player Both High End. Neil did a fantastic job on them Very Nolageable and Professional. I would highly recommend this Repair shop &service Dave C Thank-you Neil
Employee was pleasant. Services offered did not include repair of air purifier or Bose radio so the service offering did not meet our needs. Could not recommend another service provider. May be excellent with TV, etc. Don't know.
Great service, prices a little high.
