There's something intriguing and exciting about indy artists sharing their work and having a place for it to be on display. That's what the Mothership offers. If you're an aspiring or seasoned artist perhaps you should stop by to inquire about having your art featured. It never hurts to ask. Overall a great place!
We are so lucky to have the Mothership Toy Gallery in Philadelphia. There are only a handful of amazing urban vinyl/Designer Toy stores in the US and this store is one of the best. The selection is awesome and because they have Martian Toys they have such an incredible selection of exclusives. Plus they don't kill you with a huge mark-up and everyone is chill and super knowledgeable. The new location is a huge added bonus.
Adult toys, but not in that way you kinky reader. They offer custom plastic collectibles from artists and prints. A lot of blind boxes under 20 bucks also offer a good reason to come back. And once a month they change their featured art. But be prepared to pay artwork prices for art pieces. I found a custom MF Doom figure based off the Mmm Food album and would have to spend a whole paycheck for it. While i couldn't afford it, i left with a Gorillaz blind box i enjoyed
Very friendly staff! They have some awesome art toys you can literally get lost in everything on the shelves! Highly recommend anyone who loves art and toys this is the spot to be at!!
A really trippy, tiny location. The toys speak for themselves. A lot of options for designer toys, both unique items and factory produced. Find plenty of one-of-a-kind pieces by artists like Klav, Strohmeyer, and Casey. I particularly liked the B1 Spacer...tons of neon colors and black light reactivity. Keep your collection relevant and special by getting stuff here.
Such a rad gallery. A bit on the pricey side but understandable for designer art toys. Would definitely come back.
My kids loved it there. We went in to see the Jason Naylor stuff and found the place to be welcoming and the owner/staff person to be knowledgeable and cool. When our kiddos got to the car and opened their blind boxes they were disappointed but the owner had told them that if they wanted to switch to the display of the box they could. What a great store policy and we will be back again! Way to save the day! Thank you!!!!!!
The best vinyl toy / art store I've been to. A bit small but the selection is massive. Knowledge and friendly staff. The prices are fair and they let you swap out a blind box purchase for the one on the shelf if you don't get something you like. Would recommend to any art toy enthusiast.
This place has some of the best art I've ever seen with some of the best figures I've ever seen
While visiting Philly about a month ago , I had some time to kill before a show and decided to check for vinyl toy stores. This was one of the first places that popped up and it said they were open so my boyfriend and I went to check it out. Only when we got there, the sign said closed and we didn’t see anyone inside. I gave the door a sad little tug and we turned away. But as we started back to the car, a man popped out and invited us inside. He explained the store was closed for inventory but we were welcome to come inside anyway, and I’m so happy we did. Me and my bf are both big into vinyl toys, and this place seriously blew us away. We met several of the workers who really down to earth, nice people. Through talking with them we realized we own one of their own products, a cherry flavored snow cone monster. We each ended up buying something including a big Kid Robot bag of jelly beans. They even let me switch out a character I pulled from a blind box with a display one I liked more. Will definitely visit here again, I can’t recommend this place enough.
