Spectacular hike - 5 mi out, 5 mi back - with 360 panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, Reno, Carson City. From the trail head, it is a beautiful stroll through the forest for the first couple miles, gradual climb, easy. The Galena Creek Falls are the halfway point and a good turn around point if you aren't up for the full hike. From the falls, the climb starts getting steeper. The last half mile is fully exposed to the sun and wind, but the views are to die for.

This is a review of the trail to get to Mt. Rose. It is a phenomenal 10-mile round trip. It is strenuous, but not dangerous. No dangerously exposed areas. The views at the top are a great payoff, and the hike features waterfalls, meadows, and is forested until the final stretch. A must-do hike for Reno residents and a great hike for anyone visiting the area that wants to get outdoors. Good views of both Reno and Lake Tahoe along the way.

Hiked to the top today through many patches of snow which added to the difficulty. Took 6.5 hours round trip. Awesome views we're our reward.
