Story

Multnomah County Courthouse serves as the courthouse for Multnomah County, Oregon and its Sheriff's Office. It is located in downtown, Portland, Oregon, the county seat. It currently includes 39 courtrooms, 36 of which are district courts, two are traffic courts, and one used for forced eviction detainment. Due to concerns over the structural deficiency of the 100-year-old building, which was determined to need a costly seismic retrofit, the county board of commissioners decided in 2013 to launch plans to construct a new courthouse in a different location, to replace the existing building. Construction began in October 2016, and the new courthouse is projected to open in 2020.HistoryMultnomah County Courthouse was built in two phases between 1909 and 1914 at a total cost of $1.6 million; to make it fire-resistant, it was constructed of concrete-encased steel, with concrete slab floors and walls of terra-cotta brick, covered with plaster. At the time, it was the largest courthouse on the west coast and served also as county seat and county jail.Originally, the building had a central courtyard, where prohibition-era confiscated alcohol was poured down a drain; over time, this courtyard was filled in to make room for more offices and a jury room. The courthouse has four two-story courtrooms which feature most of the courthouse's original design; some two-story courtrooms were split horizontally during the 1950s, expanding capacity and resulting in new floors.

Seems biased toward white men? Your biased awareness video came across this way. The animated Satanic Feminism is well presented on the outside. What's up with Portland? Toxic.
Everyone complains about how the south is terrible, and the law is biased there, but here in Oregon I have had NOTHING but biased, ignorant, bossy and judicially clumsy judges. in my latest fiasco, I had to take my slumlord to court over not paying the city's new "law" on paying relocation assistance when they evict for no-cause. The judge apparently MISSED the point that my husband and I were legally separated, so was not able to speak for both of us, when he moved out, which was the slumlord's argument, DESPITE the fact that my ex was there to explain he never was speaking for me, the judge ruled for the slumlord, and demanded -I- had to pay her. After the decision, in which he refused to let me speak, reminding him that his decision was based on faulty information, he seemed surprised to hear me say "Hey, when she gave me the eviction notice, I was legally separated from my husband, which he said, and SHE landlord said." but his response was "Well, the ruling is complete. We're done" Pro tem judge Johnson. Seems fair, but may be developing memory problems and clearly suffers from bench arrogance.
It was all blocked off. I didn’t see a way to get an hour trying to file. I guess everything‘s blocked off because of the protest but there was not a door to get in so frustrated!
The employees won’t give any directive..they only talk to one another.
Just what you'd expect from a courthouse. Expect, the officers that manage the entrances are very friendly and helpful.
Most Disorganized City! We need an entire reboot of city officials!
