Mundo Vegan believes in preparing and serving wholesome, organic, non-GMO, vegan food. We have created a vegan world when you are visiting us, as our name translates to Vegan World. Mundo Vegan is a setting where your senses, appetite and desire for a delicious, healthy meal can harmoniously coexist.
We strive to satisfy all who dine at Mundo Vegan, from the omnivore to the vegan foodista. Our food is a blend of healthy and comforting – family favorites that we grew up enjoying- with a vegan twist.
We are dedicated to organic, non GMO, palm oil free, and gluten free (where indicated in menu). We believe that a delicious meal should be good for your heart and soul. We are thrilled to be able to provide that for you at Mundo Vegan.
Our menu changes with the local seasons, so please check back often to see how we are creatively using the local harvest in our menu.

Nice to see a fully vegan restaurant in Madeira. Food was fresh and tasted very good, although it did take a while to come out. Place looks great and staff are wonderful. Definitely check it out if you can! Hopefully more places like this will open up.
Came here a few months ago. Had the "Be kind" burger with cheese that came with some fries and the "Sunflower" smoothie, both were absolutely delicious. Had someone else with me who had the lentil bolognese and the same smoothie, they also agreed the food was delicious. I had made a reservation and had mentioned in passing that it was my birthday, well at the end of my meal they surprised me with a slice of chocolate cake with some candles on it and even put on a little birthday song for me on the speakers, it was so sweet of them I was not charged for the slice of cake of course. It was a great experience all-around.
Great vegan place! Friendly waiters with excellent English, nice music. The burgers were excellent, but the desserts, unfortunately, were not to my liking. There were only two desserts to choose from and both were unsuccessful. Overall I would definitely recommend this place!
Best Vegan read on Funchal. Little bit pricey, however the food is delicious! Clean and modern bathrooms, nice set up, friendly staff and wide selection. Their smoothies are to live for!
We ate here on numerous occasions during our stay in Funchal and the food was delicious. All of the burgers were lovely, including the chips. The carrot, apple and ginger juice was my favourite of the 3. The snickers tart was amazing. The 2 Buddha bowls I had were nice, however a recommendation I would make to the cafe is to provide more sauce/dressing as they did lack a more exciting flavour. Everything’s was perfect. Drinks where good, food was tasty and it was cheap. Definitely try the vegan maracuja dessert if you have room for dessert
We ate from here twice while in Funchal, we tried 2 different burgers, a tagliatelle and the protein power bowl along with some cake, fresh Juices and smoothies. The restaurant is clean and very modern. The food was nice but could do with more seasoning and the first time we went the waitress came across abit rude but she may have been stressed with how busy it was. The next time she was lovely and spoke to us about our holiday etc... Overall good experience and the only full vegan place we found on the island so definitely give it a go!
Mundo Vegan is the only full vegan Restaurant in Madeira. So I maybe had to high expectations.. small portions and ordinary food for a above average price. I would have loved to try the Bicalhau, had never seen before a vegan version, but sadly it was not available… Vegan Burgers, bowls and pasta you can find a lot in even non vegan restaurants, so the menu variety was a little disappointing. The dessert was good, but a piece of cake and ice cream costs almost the same as the main dinner.. no wonder there is no price for that on the menu card ?
Had a lovely meal here last night. 3 courses and a side of fries. So tasty and staff were really friendly and welcoming loved the additional touches. Thanks so much! Don’t listen to the negative Nellys in other reviews! From Leeds UK
I hate it when I have to give a vegan restaurant a low rating but Mundo Vegan was disappointing. We had no reservation so at first we only got a table inside. The interior is really not welcoming or nicely decorated and the worst part of it was the intense smell of cooking fat in the air that almost made us feel a bit sick. Fortunately the waiter offered us a seat in the nice terrace once a table was available and we changed seats. The next disappointment was the size of the meal we ordered. We ordered both bowls and they were hardly bigger than an appetizer. The preparation of the ingredients can also only be described as basic. Come on, if you’re gonna offer a bowl, you gotta make it more interesting than what most people could easily recreate at home with zero kitchen skills.
