Who knew! Amongst this beautiful street there are even more beautiful souls. I would only have my breakfast and coffee here. Starbucks might be new, but 'My Cousins Place' is the place to use.
If you are looking for a quality place with no sweet talk, you've found it. I biked through the historic downtown and stumbled past Engine 1 Ladder 8 up the block and saw this hole-in-the-wall family-run joint. It doesn't seem like much initially, but humble beginnings are the best. Right off the bat, don't expect family friendly service, the folks argue but what loving family doesn't? A few more expletives than the usual but through the classic Boston accent is heart-warming, or at least ear-burning! You get a bit of breakfast and a show. It takes a while to get the order in and they have a bit of a line with not so many people but soak up the experience. They have a great spread of breakfast and lunch options, as well as excellent made-to-order options. They sure grill it right. Also look no further for your caffeine fix. As with many of the other reviews, outside is better than inside because you can sit and watch the crowds stream past. This is definitely a diamond in the rough that should be on your list to visit!
Probably one of the best omelets ever. We stayed at the Battery Wharf where breakfast would have been twice as much. Found this spot about a block over where two orders was $13 total. That’s a really good price even in rural WNY... especially for the large size of the omelets. Listening to the employees family banter was highly amusing
So I came across this place by luck. I have to say as soon as I saw the menu I knew I wanted to eat here. Once I walked in I was greeted by the two that worked there, and I have to say I am so glad I came across this place. My tastebuds we’re blessed by the amazing Italian sandwich. I normally don’t go for subs like this but it was great! Definitely a great choice!!!
This is a Boston Cafe! Great people, made us feel welcomed. Hearty foods, we just about skipped lunch after breakfast. Fresh coffee every morning. I would recommend to everyone who visits. The only place we had to go back multiple times while we stayed. Your extended family from Portland, OR!
We like to call this place “breakfast and a show.” The owners/staff are hysterical—they are always bickering about something! The banter is very entertaining. They also have a list of flavored iced coffees like pistachio or cinnamon bun that ARENT sweetened! So tasty!
Awesome place! Both signature sandwiches were amazing and arugula salad with chicken was fresh and tasty too. The place also has a great authentic Italian family atmosphere - very friendly. Would highly recommend for lunch.
Food was great but service was horrible. We walked in and it took them forever to take our order because one of the employees was eating. The employees were fighting the whole time and using vulgar language with multiple costumers in their shop. This was happened both times that I have been to this establishment. They were testing out their food that had gone bad and were making very vulgar sounds as to how the expired food tasted. It did not seem cleanly behind the counter and was very cluttered. Would not recommend this place if you're either in a rush or want to sit down and enjoy your meal. They are a stop on the "Uber Eats" route and care more about the time quality of their 'to go' orders, rather than their walk in customers. Call in and order ahead so you can pick your food up and leave as quickly as possible.
Three main issues 1 Huge sanitation public health issues, handling food with bare hands, handling money in between etc. Also large dirty outdoor garbage can in the corner that you workers would bare handed grab lid and then go on to food preparation. 2 Terrible service, the guy behind the counter was having a casual conversation and dealing with us at the same time, randomly yelling out words across the room while we were trying to order. 3 Got order wrong because again he couldn't be bothered to pay attention to us
Great little hole in the wall spot for excellent sandwiches and breakfast food. The staff are super friendly and in this tourist-centric part of town, you'll find more locals than out of towners stopping by - a real testament to the genuine food and service.
