My Village is an intimate, natural and non-toxic family play space designed for infants and young children up to age 6, offering playgroups and classes.
The idea for My Village came to me after experiencing the HUGE life change that is becoming a new parent. What a joyful journey and learning experience it's been so far! Yet along with all the joys came the pangs of giving up a rewarding professional career to becoming a stay at home parent. Even with a wonderful supportive husband and loving family around me I still felt an unexpected isolation - especially in those early days as I adjusted to my new pace of life. I craved the connection and community that before had come largely from my former job. How to find that again? Well I was blessed to have a few friends and neighbors who were also new parents. I was and am so grateful to have a little community of other parents to ask questions, bounce ideas off of, share joys, frustrations, and all the rest! I wasn't alone! I found my village. In realizing how important these connections to other parents are, I decided I wanted to create a wonderful place to facilitate those connections while providing a safe and beautiful place for babies and young children to play and learn.
My vision is for My Village to be a place of community and support. It's a place where we can come together, share our experiences, and have fun as we nurture our sweet babes. My Village will offer natural play groups, baby wearing dance classes, children's painting classes, toy making and craft classes, and more! As we grow my hope is to increase our offerings to include breastfeeding support groups and other parenting and birth related classes. Please come check us out!
