I should have checked the reviews before going here. It is a shady place. They added up unnecessary tests and adds on to the glasses until I had to copay $170.40 in a 752 bill. Worst then that, I visited them on November 06 and they placed the order but I have not received the glasses as of today 27 November. It looks like they have misplaced the order. If I ever receive the glasses, how can I now make sure that it is the correct ones as I have lost my trust in them. I went their the other day to check the status of the order and the guy told me that it looks like the order may have been misplaced which way truly annoying. I am writing this so the residents in the Pentagon and Crystal City areas have a clearer understanding of mixed experiences with this place and can make an informed decision. December 8 update: I have not received the glasses.
Had my exam done at Pentagon location 10/10/2022. It was very pleasant and enjoyable. The doctor explained everything that she was doing very well and clearly. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. They help me picked the best looking frame for my facial structure.
Great service at MyEyeDr Pentagon City. Dr. Poloncak was professional and helped find the correct prescription for me. Angelique was patient and extremely helpful in selecting frames and navigating my insurance. Will definitely come back for future eye needs!
The glasses that I purchased from here came with a fingerprint on the left lens now when I drive at night time the print turns into a glare that is bright and white. I also had my other pair fixed and the left lense popped out within a week while I was walking and the lense just fell out. Bad quality work and bad quality products.
A new open site, great experience for eye exams to get my prescriptions of eyeglasses and contact lenses. Some tests and services maybe related to contact lenses are not fully covered by my Aetna vision insurance; there are some copayments and costs after discount.
Sadly, i’ve never had an issue with MyEyeDr - until today. Came to their new location, not far from the former space on the 3rd floor of Pentagon City Mall. My eye exam appointment was scheduled for 1pm. I was even contacted by an employee the night before to confirm my appointment, as i’m sure they would like to determine their doctor’s availability & not waste the doctor’s time if a patient does not show up. Courtesy. After confirming my appointment, i made sure to be on-time and even 15min early on a relaxing Sunday afternoon. When i arrive to MyEyeDr, i walk-in to an employee who looked directly at me & still didn’t greet me or acknowledge my existence as a customer. Typical behavior from caucasian men to black people, so i wasn’t too upset. I proceed to to the counter where a woman who doesn’t greet me either asks me very quip, “you here for an appt?!”. i oblige and provide her with my name and my appointment time or 1pm. Fast forward to 35 minutes later and frustration building, i ask the woman when will i be seen? she says that they are understaffed and behind on patients. But why are you just now telling me this? Was I supposed to guess this? was i supposed to delay my other sunday plans because your place of business is understaffed. she very rudely tells me “well you can reschedule.” No, i’m not going to reschedule because i am out of contacts and in desperate need of replenishment. My problem is the lack of communication and disregard for people’s time. Pretty new location, Ugly attitude & experience. AND TO TOP IT OFF, the woman who ends up doing my pre-exam barely knows what she’s doing. the eye puffer thing they shoot in your eye was shot into the same eye twice! told me to rest my chin on the machine that doesn’t even have a chin rest! Novice, inexperienced & obviously lacking proper training.
I must have tried on 75% of the glasses in store and the team at My Eye Dr was so patient and helpful every step of the way. Left with two pairs of frames I love!
I scheduled an appointment with the Pentagon City MyEyeDoctor for 01/07. They called an hour before my appointment to cancel, no big deal. I rescheduled for 01/14. Showed up on 01/14 and the entire store was closed? No call to cancel, no notification, nothing. Never called to reschedule. When I called them 2 days later to ask about what happened, I shared I was disappointed because I've been waiting two weeks for appointments that never happened and I need to order more contacts. Further, their failure to contact me to cancel the second appointment was frustrating because I paid $30 to Uber to the office wasting time and money. During my conversation with their office, THEY JUST HUNG UP ON ME! Totally unprofessional. I haven't encountered bad customer service like this in years. Totally juvenile and inconsiderate. UPDATE: Thank you to MyEyeDr patient relations to reaching out to me. I will book an appointment with a different office until this one can improve.
One of the best eye exams I've ever had. Optometrist was excellent. Unfortunately, my experience with the Opticians was the worst Bought two pairs of glasses for over $1000. After a short time the lenses of one of the glasses became scratched. They were supposed to be scratch proof or scratch resistant. I was told not to worry, that they would simply replace them under warranty. Months later, I was called to ask if I could bring the frames in. I told them that I brought the complete pair of glasses in not just the lenses. Who would remove the lenses from the frame and bring them in? After 6 months of waiting, I told him to replace the glasses or give me a refund. They finally acquiesced and gave me a new pair. A few months later the temple on the new glasses broke. I bought them in for repair and they said I need to buy new glasses. Terrible customer service!
Shady! Gave them my insurance info before the exam. Was asked if I wanted the puff test for $39 dollars, I said no. Tech said my copay would be $30 or $40 dollars. Appointment lasted maybe five minutes. After appointment they ask if I want contacts. I say no. Sales guy tries to bill me WITH contacts. I tell him that’s not correct. Then he tries to sell me contacts. I have to tell him two more times I don’t want it and to bill me. Then he says the exam is $94 dollars. Highly dishonest shady stuff. Apparently there were three add-on services performed in that ten-minute eye exam. Yeah. Sure. Go elsewhere.
