myTherapyNYC was there for me during a particularly difficult time during the pandemic. It's not easy to find a therapist, especially the right one. The practice was very helpful in getting me set up with someone even though demand was high at the time. We did our visits remotely which worked fine. I never had any issues with scheduling or billing not a small consideration. I am really happy with the progress I made!
My experience with myTherapyNYC has been easy and pleasant from the beginning. Upon intake, I worked with a friendly and helpful staff member to ascertain my needs and schedule a visit. Almost my entire experience has been virtual, which was convenient and had little interruptions or technical difficulties. The therapist I was matched with has helped me immensely, and I appreciate the professionalism, compassion, and care that I have received while working with myTherapyNYC.
I worked with two counselors at myTherapyNYC & both were absolutely outstanding. I worked through familial and personal trauma, and both therapists encouraged me to be open and honest about my struggles, while also supporting me with my healing goals. I highly recommend myTherapyNYC - whether you’re new to therapy or have had many different sessions.
I worked with a therapist at this facility for roughly two years and it was an incredible experience! I had never experienced therapy before, and the practice made getting started very smooth. They asked me a series of questions what I was looking for in a therapist, what I wanted to focused on, fears/concerns I had, etc and they made me feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend this practice!
Great practice! Really enjoyed my virtual therapy sessions with Melanie over the last year. Insurance was a bit of a hassle, but once I figured everything out scheduling and attending sessions was a breeze. I've visited the office in person as well - and its very modern, inviting, and accessible. Would come back again in a heartbeat :
My experience with myTherapyNYC and my personal therapist Victoria Haller has been exceptional. It was quite an extensive process to find the right therapist but myThreapyNYC made the process easy and even submits your claims to the insurance once you start therapy. Victoria has been instrumental in helping me to reclaim myself and to see myself in a more positive, supportive light. She guided me in the process of finding a way through my pain and how to deal with loss by taking an in-depth look at the issues and solutions. Her sensitivity, openness and encouragement helped me to dig deep and with her knowledge and insights she was able to add just the right amount of challenge or support to help me see more clearly and value myself which gave me the ability to set better boundaries that are now helping me to navigate my life in a more constructive, productive and satisfying way. I’m most thankful for having had the chance to work with such a capable, thoughtful and empathetic therapist and I know she will be enriching many more lives with her special touch and skilled guidance.
AVOID - this practice. Front desk / Practice manager Kimia - does not bother to read emails. Since Sept. 2020 - I have been on the "waiting list". As I am looking for a therapist with experience. As this is not my first time in therapy. At "myTherapyNYC". They pair you up with the newest recruit from collage with little to no hours. The strategy by management - for me a cash paying patient is I guess just keep "waiting"
I saw Kimia for a little over two years. she really helped me through big upheavals and life transitions. She was a huge supportive and positive force in my life that helped me tremendously. I am very grateful for our work together and credit her to being such an ally to me and for believing me through thick and thin. highly recommend and hope that others get to benefit from her insights like I have over the years.
I worked with Alea at myTherapyNYC for a little over 1 year and had an excellent experience. She was so supportive and our work together has been instrumental in my ability to manage my anxiety and cope with various challenges. I'm so grateful for her help and I highly recommend this practice.
It has been such a great experience over the past 2 years being at mindful care and working alongside Melanie Canastra as well as Beck Liatt. Beck Liatt was the first provider here and made me feel safe, herd, and seen as a person who is growing. They were so intersectional and helped me have realizations in life that were quintessential to my healing. They are such an incredible provider The only reason stopped seeing them is because they work as a clinical director at an eating disorder treatment center Melanie Canastra supported me in unexpected transitions, truly celebrated my wins, and sat with me during the losses. You can feel the genuine care Melanie has, as well as her growth mentality as a provider is shown through her words and actions. Examples of this are providing and leaning into different tools for our therapy that I expressed interest in EX: dbt books, podcasts, articles, open talking, current media etc . She follows through with her word and didn't make me feel guilty for learning how therapy worked best in my life at different stages. It can be hard to find providers that truly care to continue learning, which is a necessarily component to a successful therapeutic relationship. Melanie showed me in my first session the type provider she was, and i'm grateful I was able to have her support me in my life over the past year. The only reason I am leaving the practice is due to my insurance changed.
