This place has a very solid, extensive menu with a couple less common items that immediately jumped out at me. I love how you can buy the curries separately; I did so with the rangoon curry and it was phenomenal. It had amazing flavor and consistency. I also had the mixed grill -- all around, it had very good flavors, but some inconsistent cooking. Most of the chicken pieces were pretty dry, but one was undercooked to the point that I couldn't eat it. The beef was actually quite tender and the shrimp was nearly perfect. Medium spice level across the board was pretty hot coming from somebody with a good heat tolerance. I wouldn't want it much hotter. The Khajuri naan was one of the things that jumped out at me and it followed the same theme: great flavor, sweet and a little rich, but the texture was quite tough. It needed to be dipped in curry. Portions were huge and very generous for the prices paid. There's a lot of good going on at Namaste, but there are barriers preventing it from being a great place. I'd still be happy to come back for more of those flavors. Vegetarian options: Full vegetarian section on the menu; lots to choose from Parking: Decent sized parking lot in a plaza
I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have a better star rating. It’s a wonderful option for vegans and vegetarians! Visited for the third time and the food and service were excellent. Can’t wait to have dinner at Namaste again!
Huge portions, enormous menu, delicious food. We got 1/2 order of momos, a veg thali, and a lamb vindaloo and had enough for 2 for dinner plus leftovers for lunch the next day. Definitely recommend this to anyone!
Great place! Best Indian food in town! Rich creamy however light on stomach sauces and interestingly they have different taste for each one. Freshly made. All the curries were great. Must try their Nepali Kheer. Customer service was so welcoming! All in all, must go place! Highly recommend
The best Indian I came across in Anchorage I have the non-chicken curry in the chicken tikka all were exceptional the sauces were fresh and it was all worth the wait five out of five very delicious
The best Authentic Nepalese food in Anchorage. Food was great and satisfying , lassi and veggie momos are my family’s favorite. Servers were very helpful. And the atmosphere is relaxing.
A great selection of Southeast Asian foods. Great customer service, fair pricing, and healthy portions. They’re often very busy Friday nights, so takeout can take awhile longer, often 45 minutes minimum. Other days takeout is typically ready in 15-25 minutes in our experience. Food is often great, but can be inconsistent two orders ago we ordered vegetable momos and got beef momos instead because they ran out and tonight our cheese naan was burnt to to the point it tasted more burnt than cheese. It often hits the spot. Good option for those who like Himalayan and southeast Asian cuisine.
Went twice here and I must say they have done wonderful job in attracting locals to the restaurant. I saw probably owner asking most of the folks if they tried Indian before and telling them about the food and guiding them. They have variety of option on their menu and their high spicy is really spice and I don’t suggest to try if you are not use to. The food tasted good and they have very quick service as well. What I didn’t like about it is, they charging me for onions. In most of the restaurants onion, lemons are given complimentary.
5 star for food. Ambiance is minimal, but of no consequence. Goat biryani may be the best I've had, although it is a dish that is how you like it or not. Gravy menu! Kadai gravy - whew, slap your Mamma good. Garlic Naan tandoori bread, to boot. All the best quality! What a good place.Food: 5/5
It took several tries, before we were able to eat here. Either they had closed early, or the chef had to leave, or the wait was over an hour, etc. I had almost given up trying, but the reviews were so good, I decided to give it one more go. I'm glad I did. The food was really good! My husband had the mixed grill & I had the non veg combo meal, with chicken Tikka masala. We also ordered a side of garlic naan, which was so good, we ordered a 2nd side of garlic naan. Overall, a really good meal. Not cheap, but not expensive, either. We spent $55, plus tip, for 2 dinners, 2 garlic naan, and 2 teas. Not bad for a fresh, well cooked dinner for 2.
