Place is decent. A bit too cluttered for my taste. Waited in line, bought my stuff and left.
Standard.

Showed up at 4:42. Posted hours are 7-5. Lights were off door was open, guy was working on a car in garage. I asked to buy parts (off shelf nothing special), i was refused service. I mentioned his posted hours, he agreed that it said he was open but couldnt sell me anything. Very unprofessional, will never return or recommend to anyone.

Went in to napa auto parts located in ludlow vermont to get a quote for a new battery. the gentleman that i spoke with was very nice, polite and very helpful. i requested two quotes, one to just purchase a battery for my car and a second for labor to install the battery as i considered installing the battery myself. the price to supply and install the battery was reasonable. i made an appointment to bring my car in the following morning to have the battery installed. the following morning i delivery my car as per our agreement. a few hours later i received a call from larry, the owner of the napa dealer saying that my car was ready. upon my arrival to pick up the car, i went to pay for the services rendered and was charged a price SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER than what i was quoted. when i quested the amount being charged, larry became extremely irate, angry and down right verbally abusive. he grabbed the key from the counter and put it in his pocket and said, "that is my fu****g price and if you don't pay my price you will not get your car back." in addition, larry stated, "you fu***g people from new jersey come up here with your fu****g accents and your fu****g attitudes thinking that you are better than us."
I remained polite and professional and attempted to explain to larry that i was quoted a price significantly less than what he was attempting to charge me. additionally, i agree to pay a higher price than quoted but felt that what he was asking was completely unreasonable. his answer was, i don't give a f***k, i didn't quote you that price." i explained that i understand that, however, it was his employee that quoted me the price and that a good business owner would stand behind the price quoted by an employee. again, his answer was, "i don't give a f**k and if you want your car back this is the price that you need to pay."
i realized that the larry was escalating the situation and that i needed to deescalate the situation as he has become so irate and belligerent. i had no choice but to pay the price that he demanded.
i then left and contacted napa headquarters and spoke to matt englat who was very polite and professional! matt explained to me that larry was an independent dealer and that he would contact him to get his side of the story. i began to feel that my side of story was being questioned and or doubted.
matt did get back to me later the same day as promised and thankfully, he informed that larry did indeed confirm my side of the story. larry did admit to the language that he used and the conversation that we had. however, larry was not willing to do anything about the situation. matt then said to me that he couldn't do much about it as larry was an independent dealer.
matt continued to say the he would send me a $100 gift card. additionally, matt indicated that most of his complaints are from people looking for something for free and that this situation was unique. furthermore, matt indicated he does not offer people any type of discount and or any other financial compensation for their troubles. however, this situation called for financial compensation. i told matt that this was not about the money and although it was a kind gesture, i did not want the the money. i told matt that i just wanted the wrong made right. unfortunately, nothing further was done.
what a horrific experience! i have never experienced such horrible treatment from any business owner. i am surprised that larry is still in business. bottom line is use another merchant or proceed with caution!
