First the good: ** The food is easy to order online. ** We got a confirmation email that told us it would be ready by 2:12pm. Nope. It was ready by 2:05pm! Go, Nara Thai! ** Remodeling has made the interior more attractive AND more functional see pics. The wood buildout on both sides of the door keeps the restaurant warmer on a cold day, such as today 46ºF. It’s now possible to eat comfortably next to the door on a chilly and blustery day. Great job Nara Thai! ** The food is tasty and reasonably priced. ** Staff is friendly and helpful. Now, the not so good: ** I’m accustomed to the bathrooms being available for patrons only. Today, they were available to no one. See pics ** This Nara Thai location is located across the street from the bus station. Nothing has ever happened; however, I’m not always comfortable with the parking lot. There are sometimes homeless people in the area having conversations with themselves. Again, in over a decade of coming to this location, there’s never been an incident that I’ve been a part of.
I was happy to see a Thai joint next to a Grayhound station so I jumped at the opportunity to grub. The fried rice was $10.45 and the Beef & Shrimp was $6. Maybe it's me, but that made no sense. The Thai Iced Tea was $6 for a small commercial bottle so I nearly yelled at him to cancel. The taste was decent but the price was ridiculously high. Reason why I'm giving a 3 star is cuz the cook passed me a bottled water, free of charge. I DO NOT recommend this place.
Though the outside was a bit unusual and shady, the food was not bad. I got tofu pad thai, and it was pretty good!
Ordered Yellow Curry soup because I am sick and thought the spicy warm soup would make me feel better. Order arrived, and was 3 appetizers. I called and spoke with someone who verified my soup was still sitting there. Was told “I’ll be there in a little while”. No one ever showed. Got stuck with crab puffs, fried tofu, and fried spring rolls…. After reading similar reviews, it seems this is a common issue. Not to worry, plenty of other places to order from in the area. Don’t waste your money here if you plan on getting your food delivered.
Ordered the Tom Kha soup and crab angels to go and enjoyed every bite!! Passing by, you wouldn’t think to look twice but this is a must try if you are in the mood for Thai food. The flavor is unbeatable! Absolutely in love with the crab angels! Definitely will be coming back again!
Wow. Great food and plenty of it. Got a tofu eggplant basil thing and a roasted duck green curry. Excellent. Wish I'd gotten a 2 spice instead of 3 but that's on me. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options. Parking: Plenty of parking. Dietary restrictions: Special notes printed on the menu for vegan and gluten-free folks.
First time here. Got the pad see eue noodles. I soon as I opened the plate there was an unpleasant smell. The shrimp tasted bad, I’m sure they were expired. The noodles were somewhat fresh but did not taste good as well. I do recommend, because of the nasty smelling/tasting spoiled shrimp, more than anything
This sh!t is legit. Everything was good! We got it through Uber eats then found out it was basically in a gas station. Lesson learned never judge a book by its cover. Going to go by later today and eat some more. Fresh no travel time.Food: 5/5
Food is legit, I have tried different dishes and no disappointment so far. Staff is friendly and the place is clean with an open kitchen in case you want to take a peek how the preparation goes. Must try: 1. Papaya salad 2. Pad Thai 3. Pineapple fried rice 4. Pangnan Curry This place is a hidden gem located on the outskirts of downtown. The area have some sketchy characters walking around. But nothing to worry about. Value plus quality food this is my 1# Thai join Houston.
Pad Tai is to die for.... fast and friendly service...
