I knew they are bad. Didn't know HOW bad they are.
People who lived before us closed account and 1 day later National grid turned off our gas. They left us without cooking gas/AC/hot water. I called right away and asked to open us an account and give us the gas back. I was told that they have to schedule an appointment. The Earliest day they suggested was Memorial day , Monday. First of all it would be our 4-th day without Gas. Second - it could be only a whole day Appointment. That means can can show up Any time between 8 am and Midnight. So we wouldn't be able to move anywhere from apt the Whole day. I accepted that , because we Really need our AC , stove and Hot water. I was told that the tech would call me 2 times Before his arrival. I was also told that if I fail to meet the guy - I would have to pay a fine.
Now: 1) No one called. 2) national Grid is Not available in any way to reply waht's going on with that appointment - they were closed for the day. 3) NOBODY showed up as I waited till 12-40 midnight!
I wish there would be any other options except this disgusting National Grid, but there is None. I wish - all their employees and directors to have 5 days without AC in a hot New York, without hot water, without opportunity to cook at home.
I wasted the Whole f#@king day.

Called about emergency at my mom's house. The first woman took info and said she would speak with aTech but apparently did not pass on the message. My sister called back and spoke with someone and they were at my mom's house within 45 minutes during a Nor'easter. I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the first person's lack of action.

I would fire all their employees - they don't even deserve to work as cleaning staff in a subway. So Lazy ! They gave me "all day" appointment, which basically means you have to stuck in your apt from 8m till midnight and Wait. I did. they didn't even bothered themselves to show up or call ( as they supposed to ). Of course, they don't have any number to contact a tech or Anyone. I believe it's made on purpose .
National Grid - the worst of the worst ( you can make it your logo - I don't mind)

Scumbags, wait them for whole days for 2 times, nobody call, nobody came. Once at winter their man came and lock gas, because they do mistakes in their papers. This momopolist should be jujed and closed

I hate the minimum service charge of $45 on my bill, the $800 deposit they made me pay (although they did return it), and that they make you pay a surcharge to use online bill pay, so I still have to mail them a check every month. Added one star because the one time I did need a service tech, the guy showed up as scheduled, was friendly and fast at turning my service on.
