I recently had the pleasure of visiting this modern southern style restaurant for brunch, and I must say, the flavors and dishes transported me to the heart of the South. The restaurant had a trendy and inviting ambiance that perfectly complemented the delicious fare they had to offer. Let's start with the highlight of the meal - the chicken. It was nothing short of excellent. The succulent, perfectly cooked chicken had a crispy golden crust that sealed in the juicy goodness. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, with just the right amount of seasoning. It was clear that the chefs had put great effort into ensuring that the chicken was the star of the show, and they succeeded admirably. Accompanying the chicken were the delectable potatoes. These Southern-style potatoes were wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. They had a crispy exterior, giving way to a soft and tender center. Each bite was a heavenly blend of flavors, with hints of herbs and spices that enhanced the overall experience. These potatoes were truly a standout addition to the meal. The biscuits were another delightful component of the brunch. They were flaky, buttery, and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Freshly baked to perfection, you can enjoy these on their own or with the jams and butters available, but either way the biscuits were an absolute delight. Now, onto the only downside of the experience—the wait for the food. Unfortunately, the wait was longer than expected, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. While I understand that we did go on a holiday, we did make reservations, were seated on time, and still had to wait over an hour. However, it's worth noting that the quality of the dishes did make up for the delay to some extent. Despite the longer wait, I would still highly recommend New South Kitchen & Bar for their wide variety of southern offerings. The chicken, potatoes, and biscuits were simply outstanding, showcasing the rich and comforting flavors of the South. If you're looking for a taste of Southern cuisine with a modern twist, this restaurant is the place to be. Just be prepared for a potential wait, as the food is definitely worth it. The flavors, attention to detail, and ambiance combined to create a truly enjoyable brunch. I'll definitely be returning to savor more of their mouthwatering dishes.
Great food, excellent service like always. Try chocolate mousse cake! It is something!Food: 5/5
I ate lunch at New South Kitchen & Bar on January 10th, and I was very impressed. This is a farm to table restaurant where most of everything on their menu is sourced locally. The menu is primarily southern comfort food. I tried the fried green tomatoes, and they were fantastic. For my meal, I had the cranberry & pecan chicken salad that I loved. I also had carrot soup, which is something that I have never tried. It was so tasty. New South Kitchen & Bar is a restaurant that I highly recommend.
My family got the Thanksgiving dinner for takeout and omg it was so good! Each dish came with reheating instructions. And let me tell you, even though this meal was cooked the day before Thanksgiving, it all tasted so fresh and just as good as any fresh meal would taste. The cornbread dressing rivaled my grandma's. The mac and cheese was so creamy, cheesy and delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were perfectly buttery and seasoned just right. The gravy sent the potatoes over the edge. The sweet potato puree had such a good flavor, with just the right amount of spices and sweetness. Finally, the biscuits were just heavenly little buttery puffs of goodness. I fully recommend and will use New South Kitchen for future Thanksgivings. And I look forward to finding some more favorites throughout the rest of the year.
I’m not sure why we’ve waited so long to try New South Kitchen, but I’m glad we finally dined here! Nicole was our sever and we could tell that we were getting service with a smile — even with a mask covering it. She did a great job of making recommendations when we asked about her favorite menu items. Warm biscuits and butter are served with the meal in true Southern fashion. We started with a small plate of Baked Pimiento Cheese with red pepper marmalade and wonton chips. It was gooey and delicious— with the marmalade taking the flavor to the next level. For our entree, we enjoyed the Chicken & Waffles. The waffle was Belgian style and SO LIGHT! Most chicken and waffles I’ve had in the past were served with syrup but these were served with gravy and warmed jalapeño jelly as a counterpoint. Nicole wisely suggested that we order the jelly on the side so that we could control how much jalapeño heat we wanted with each bite — and she was right. The jelly does have a bit of a kick. All in all, the meal was delicious and the service was excellent. And with many items on the menu that we’d still like to try, we look forward to returning. We used Open Table to make our reservation and were happy to see upon arrival that they were separating guests by only using every other table. We also witnessed the servers going the extra mile in cleaning each table as each party left.
Me & my husband had a really great first time experience here, wonderful atmosphere, amazing fast service, & the food was out of this world tasty. Would highly recommend going there, I recommend the fried catfish & the Pimento cheese starter dish.
This is a great upmarket spot for dinner or lunch. Cosy and comfortable decor in a convenient location. I had lunch with a group of friends. We were seated in a timely manner and our server was discreet but attentive to our needs. The fried cob salad with corn was delicious.
Amazing risotto with a delicious aoli that brought a wonderful brightness to the rich, creamy but nicely aldente rice. It was, I believe, the best risotto I have ever had.
The fried chicken portion was a little small for the price however the Tequila Sour was great and the bartender was very professional. The chicken was tender and crispy.Food: 5/5
We had our Thanksgiving dinner here and enjoyed it very much. One of my sides was macaroni and cheese ... and it tasted wonderful, but there wasn't much of it - bummer. Definitely a place I would recommend due to their excellent food and great service.
