New Tavern Bar

Visiting From DC for work, got to our Air bnb in the evening and had a hard time finding a pet-friendly outdoor patio on a Friday night 8/12. Finally stumbled upon this bar close by..it seemed low key and just perfect! Ordered my first beer after the long drive and it was sour and skunky not totally uncommon for local beer. Asked for another one to replace the expired one after one sip..the bartender had to put the owner on speaker phone to ask permission, he audibly said I was “wrong” because it came in the same delivery and “she has to drink it”. Feel sorry for the bartender but by far one of the trashiest experiences for such a simple request

Warm, welcoming local place. Feels like Cheers when you go, I always love that homey feeling. My friend and I were trying out bars in the area and figured we’d try this one. We walked in, it was lively and seemed ok. We found seating and immediately this guy walked up to us and asked my friend if he was a cop and then offered us blow. When my friend went to use the bathroom the guy kept pestering him to try snorting in the bathroom. It’d be zero stars if possible. This is just more of a warning to others who may want to try out this bar.

The owner, Orlando is very chill and a good guy. I see a lot of potential in this Bar where people of every race and background can come and enjoy a cold beer while playing pool!

I wanted to go in this place but my girl friends thought it was a bit sketchy..I didn't think so... I liked that you could play music Decent volume , order food, sit at the bar or do outdoor seating with drinks. Next time I will go alone...it also gave somewhat of a dive bar vibe and I love that

A nice and cozy neighborhood bar in the University City area. Good people and great drinks are usually here. The staff, owner, and bartenders are friendly and accommodating. This is a decent place to hang, relax, and listen to jams after work while enjoying great drinks.

this Place! Been a few times with friends. Great atmosphere! The music is always flowing enough to wanna dance. The food is on point! The service here is excellent We have always left here in a great mood. Thanks New Tavern!

Such a cool place to chill and watch sports. Has a dance floor and the owner makes the best drinks. If you in Philly holla @them

Fantastic place and on Sundays, they have standup comedy!

Everytime I go to this place always good vibes it just new need a DJ on the weekends & food besides that cool place. Bartender’s cool
