We had a wonderful experience touring the skyline, the tour lasted about an hour and although it was hot out the breeze felt great. The announcer gives you a nice history of some of the locations and overall my kids enjoyed it so I'm happy!
For $2.75 you can experience the most spectacular views as you travel in air conditioned ferries to various stops in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens as well as Weehawken and Hoboken. And if you’d prefer to sit upstairs, you will really love the extraordinary views! If you are a commuter, it’s a phenomenal way to get to and from work and if you are retired or a tourist, you can spend all of your recreational time exploring the various boroughs without ever going underground! There’s an app you can download to see schedules as well as buy tickets or you can buy tickets st any of the ferry stops!
Very convenient and includes your bus pass. This may be my new and only way to enter New York and you get a great view along the way. Super simple, even if you never used public transportation.
Not as impressive as port imperial but still a clean terminal with some amenities. Clean bathrooms and large Concorse area with a few small stores and bar area. Large outdoor seating area facing the Hudson that you can just chill out if you like. Right outside the ferry there are things to do like the Intrepid museum, shops and restaurants.
If you decide to stay in New Jersey, this is the way to get into NYC! $9 a person, one way and you can relax and get a view too. They have a 10-pack of tickets if you're planning on staying the weekend or going with a group! I loved it!
I got here at 5 am on the weekend hoping a ferry would take me across the Hudson, and enjoy the sunrise, but no- ferry on weekends start past 7.00 am! Google maps will trick you but the scenery was gorgeous and worth the early hike
Best deal in New York City. Free rides to IKEA on weekends. That’s a 45 minute ride for 25 minutes without the stop over on Wall Street. Compared that with the tourist boats that charge $28. Another good ride is to Saint George for four dollars$1.75 for seniors. Need to get quickly to New Jersey? A ride to Hoboken is nine dollars and takes only eight minutes. From there you can catch New Jersey transit.
Not 100 percent sure if I’m sharing the right ferry. But the boat I rode on was called Starlight. I got on at the Staten Island ferry. It cost me $2.75 to ride to two stops, battery park or west 39th street in Manhattan. The boat was small, fast & bumpydefinitely don’t recommend if you have motion sicknessI have mixed feelings about this Staten Island/NYC ferry option, because there were only two workers in charge & I’m used to the Staten Island Ferry that has cops & a whole crew outside & inside the boat. It just seems carelessly lax to have such freedom during these crazy times we’re in. Overall it’s a decent trip & boat, you can sit upstairs which is very open & one must be extremely careful, especially with kids. Things I like, they have cup holders on the side of the seats, there’s a bar & a QR code to scan & order food or drink & there’s tables to rest your food & or laptop on! It definitely seems like an upgraded version of the SI ferry. I also like that there’s a free buswith cozy seating, nothing like a city busthat gives you the option to travel to 42nd street, 50 & 57th street. Instead of paying another $2.75 to ride the train, you can take the busobviously depending on where you need to be in NYI’d definitely take this ferry again!
Terrible. They grab you out of the cabs at battery Park and tell you the next cruise is un 10 minutes. This is a lie. You cue up and board a bus to travel 30 minutes to the boat which is half full you then wait for more people to come. Ours was supposed to be 1pm but some had been waiting since 11:30am. People even got off. We left at about 2pm. Cruise was intrupted by incoherent rambling of the crew followed buy a tone deaf crew member trying to sing Skip it.
Clean, bright and very cool in the humid summer. You can enjoy the nice view while taking the ferry.
