Newport Equestrian Academy

I've done horseback riding trips in multiple locations on the east coast and down in the Caribbean on vacation. But this trip was superior. They keep the groups small and the landscape was beautiful - the beaches are glorious! Best of all, the horses were the most responsive horses I've ridden. They actually mind your commands, unlike many places where each horse just follows the other and disregards what you tell it. I appreciate that a lot. They also gave a very simple, clear concise training prior to setting off, which really allowed you to connect w the horse and gain quick mastery of the basics. Our guide and was positive, bright, friendly and really helpful. She also gave us background stories on all of our horses which was really fun too.

I love how people post negative reviews (haha!), when if they knew anything about riding they would know how wonderful and professional this place actually is! When you choose to set yourself up for failure, because you don't understand or listen, unfortunately it is a self-fulfilling prophecy! That being said, in my 28 years of experience in riding, I have never had the care, knowledge, and professionalism shown by Stacy and Megan. They first paired us up with horses that could not have matched my boyfriend and I more perfectly. They then allowed us to bond with the horses before heading off to ride. During this time, they patiently answered any questions that we had, making us feel extremely comfortable and prepared. The trail ride down to the beach was relaxing and the company and conversation was so pleasant. Once we got to the beach we were allowed to move a bit more freely with the horses as a group and it was exactly the experience that I needed. Something about the beauty of the horse is so freeing and we were so pleased that Stacy was able to provide us with such an amazing as well as informative experience. I would recommend this venue, and especially Stacy without hesitation, and cannot wait to go visit her, Rain, and Caspian again :) Thank you for the most amazing birthday every! -Emily and Jayson

We spent a very pleasant two hours traveling along the shore and by nature preserves. The center spends time with riders in the arena making sure they are comfortable before they hit the trail. The horses were quite amenable to commands and the young woman who was the guide was pleasant and knowledgeable about both horses and the area. My grand daughter, who is an experienced rider, had a running conversation that she talked about for days. I have already recommended the Academy to several people who were thinking of going to Newport.

We were warmly approached by Stacy, our tour guide. She matched us up with the right horse for our experience. Instructions were given in the indoor ring before the trail ride began. Stacy was very knowledgeable of Newport. I would definitely recommend trail riding. The horses were excellent and trotted for us on the road. I would highly recommend Newport Equestrian.

It was a beautiful ride on the beach. I did a two hour private tour, and the tour guide was great, and I loved the horses. Fun ride. My only problem was they offer an hour and a half ride and they also offer a two hour one. I paid quite a bit more for the 2 hour one, and we were back in less than an hr and a half.
